Omicron may help beat Delta: New study

A new study from South Africa shows that people who have recovered from “Omicron” have better resistance to the “Delta” variant infection.
On Saturday, CNN quoted a virologist at the Africa Health Research Institute, Professor Alex Sigal, who led the study, as saying that there is a possibility that “Omicron” can get rid of the “Delta” variant,
“While we were checking the immunity of people infected with omicron in South Africa, we noticed that they acquire immunity to omicron as expected, and that their immunity to the delta variant is also enhanced.”
He added, based on our experience in South Africa, “Omicron” is rapidly spreading, but it has caused mild symptoms for everyone who contracted it, and this was not the case with the “Delta” variant.

أظهرت دراسة جديدة من جنوب أفريقيا، أن لدى الأشخاص الذين تعافوا من “أوميكرون” قدرة لمقاومة انتقال عدوى متحوّر “دلتا” على نحو أفضل.
ونقلت شبكة (سي ان ان) يوم السبت، عن عالم الفيروسات في معهد أفريقيا لبحوث الصحة، البروفيسور أليكس سيغل، الذي قاد الدراسة قوله، أن ثمة إمكانية بأن يتخلص “أوميكرون” من متحور “دلتا”،
“بينما كنا نتحقق من مناعة الأشخاص الذي أصيبوا بـ”أوميكرون” في جنوب أفريقيا لاحظنا أنهم يكتسبون مناعة ضد “أوميكرون” كما هو متوقع ، وأن مناعتهم تجاه متحور “دلتا” تعززت أيضا.”
وأضاف، استنادا الى تجربتنا في جنوب أفريقيا فإن “أوميكرون” سريع الانتشار، لذلك أصيب به الكثير من الناس، لكنه تسبب بمرض ذو أعراض خفيفة لكل شخص أصيب به، وهذا لم يكن الحال مع المتحور السابق “دلتا”.
