Doha: Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council today launches QRDI Portal, an online, national platform that will facilitate strategic connections and collaborations across the innovation and research community making it easier for entities and experts to connect, develop partnerships and unlock various benefits from greater collaboration.

QRDI Portal enables access to innovation-related resources and capabilities across Qatar, allowing key strategic connections to form across government, academia, research institutions and the private-sector. In this first phase, QRDI Portal pools sophisticated facilities, equipment, and high-tech services found across Qatars leading institutions including universities, hospitals, labs, and workshops. Over the next five years, QRDI Portal will see continued development to include additional functions, such as match-making, funding opportunities, and expert profiles. Phased growth will allow the QRDI Portal to be responsive to the needs of the innovation and research community and serve as a significant and effective tool for users and entities alike.

At launch, QRDI Portal already features several entities across various sectors in its database spanning diverse disciplines, including health, engineering, design, and more, ready for collaboration. The entities are: Qatar University; Hamad Bin Khalifa University; Texas A&M University Qatar at Qatar; VCU School of the Arts in Qatar; Weill Cornell Medicine Qatar; Sidra Medicine; Equine Veterinary Medical Center; Qatar Biobank; Anti Doping Lab Qatar; Hamad Medical Corporation; Qatar Scientific Club; Ministry of Municipality and Environment; Qatar General Organization for Standardization; The Interim Translational Research Institute; ConocoPhilips and TotalEnergies. Together, they list more than 2,000 pieces of equipment, 180 facilities and 200 services. These listings are expected to expand, as more entities within the innovation and research community provide their data and the QRDI Portal completes its first phase of development this year.

“As we emerge from the pandemic, innovation will be even more critical for Qatars economic growth,” explains Eng. Omar Al-Ansari, Secretary General of QRDI Council. “QRDI Portal will easily connect experts and innovators from academia, industry, and government to provide opportunities to collaborate through innovation and R&D projects that both address challenges and stimulate commercial opportunities.

This unique platform will provide an efficient way to navigate resources, technology, and innovation capabilities that exist across the Qatari ecosystem, leveraging years of investment committed by Qatar in building its assets in world-class infrastructure.

With a tagline to “Connect, Collaborate, Create,” QRDI Portal emphasizes an opportunity to foster connections and drive insight across the innovation and research community. Students or professionals, in Qatar and beyond, can tap into the infrastructure found on the Portal to launch or fulfill studies, simultaneously partnering with others if needed. Multinationals or innovative start-ups can choose to locate their research and development (R&D) activities in Qatar due to the presence of such infrastructure. Businesses large and small can also collaborate with the technical experts and staff that manage these resources, leveraging world class equipment and services to pilot and test emerging technologies. In this way, QRDI Portal enables multi-directional touchpoints and collaborations across government entities, academic institutions, and the private-sector.

Given the opportunity to connect with entities housing state-of-the-art infrastructure, collaborations via the Portal may have a direct human impact too, as new pathways to jobs may be created.

QRDI Portal responds to the Second National Development Strategy which calls for the creation of a shared platform and mechanisms to optimize synergies and the use of resources across Qatars research entities. It also reflects the implementation of the national RDI strategy, QRDI 2030, developed by the Council. The 10-year strategy establishes RDI Information Systems as one of seven elements needed to transform the RDI ecosystem in Qatar, where open data and information are key. These aspects are fulfilled by QRDI Portal. For QRDI Council, the Portal supports a broader vision of a dynamic ecosystem where Qatar is a regional hub for innovation and research activities.

الدوحة: أعلن مجلس قطر للبحوث والتطوير والابتكار عن إطلاق “بوابة قطر للبحوث والتطوير والابتكار”، وهي منصة إلكترونية تسهل التواصل الفعال والتعاون الاستراتيجي وبناء الشراكات بين جميع أطراف مجتمع البحوث والابتكار، كما تفتح الباب أمام العديد من الفرص والمزايا التي ستتأتى من زيادة التعاون بينهم.

وتتيح بوابة قطر للبحوث والتطوير والابتكار إمكانية الوصول إلى الموارد والإمكانات المتعلقة بالابتكار في جميع أنحاء الدولة، مما يوفر فرص بناء علاقات استراتيجية بين مختلف الكيانات الحكومية والمؤسسات الأكاديمية والبحثية وقطاع الأعمال، وتضم البوابة -في مرحلتها الأولى- مجموعة واسعة من الموارد والمعدات والخدمات التكنولوجية المتطورة المتوفرة في أفضل المؤسسات القطرية، مثل الجامعات، والمستشفيات، والمختبرات، والمعامل، وعلى مدار الأعوام الخمسة القادمة، ستتطور البوابة لتشمل المزيد من المزايا، مثل: خدمات التعارف، وفرص التمويل، وبيانات الخبراء، ومن خلال تطويرها على مراحل، ستتمكن البوابة من تلبية احتياجات مجتمع الابتكار والبحوث لتكون أداة مهمة وفعالة تخدم المستخدمين من الجهات والأفراد على حد سواء.

وتتميز البوابة بمشاركة العديد من الكيانات من مختلف القطاعات، وستشمل قاعدة بياناتها مختلف المجالات، ومن بينها الصحة والهندسة والتصميم وغيرها.

وستوفر هذه الكيانات مجتمعة ما يقارب 2,000 جهاز و180منشأة و200 خدمة، ومن المتوقع أن يزداد هذا العدد ليشمل المزيد من الجهات الفاعلة في مجتمع الابتكار والبحوث، والتي ستقدم بياناتها لتستكمل البوابة مرحلتها الأولى.

ومن خلال شعارها “تواصَل. تعاوَن. ابتكِر”، تتيح بوابة قطر للبحوث والتطوير والابتكار الفرص لتعزيز التواصل وتحفيز الأفكار، ويمكن للطلاب والمهنيين في قطر وخارجها الاستفادة من البنية التحتية التي توفرها البوابة لإعداد الدراسات أو استكمالها، أو الشراكة مع الآخرين إن دعت الحاجة لذلك. ويمكن أن يحفز وجود هذه البنية التحتية الشركات الناشئة المبتكرة أو الدولية على اختيار قطر موقعا لأنشطتها في مجال البحث والتطوير، كما يمكن للشركات الكبيرة والصغيرة أيضا التعاون مع الخبراء والفنيين والموظفين الذين يديرون هذه الموارد، والاستفادة من المعدات والخدمات ذات المستوى العالمي لتجربة واختبار التقنيات الناشئة، وهكذا توفر البوابة فرصا للتواصل ولبناء شراكات متعددة الاتجاهات بين الجهات الحكومية والمؤسسات الأكاديمية وقطاع الأعمال.

وإلى جانب توفير فرص التواصل مع الكيانات التي تضم أحدث البنى التحتية وأكثرها تطورا، فإن للتعاون من خلال البوابة أثرا مهما على الصعيد الإنساني أيضا، إذ أنها توفر فرصا لوظائف جديدة.

وتوفر البوابة للكيانات المشتركة بها فرصة عرض منشآتها ومعداتها وخدماتها أمام جمهور أكبر، مما يدعم قرارات الاستثمار المستقبلية، ويسلط الضوء على المزايا التي توفرها قطر بعد سنوات طويلة من الاستثمار في بنيتها التحتية للابتكار والبحوث.

وبهذه المناسبة، أكد المهندس عمر الأنصاري، الأمين العام لمجلس قطر للبحوث والتطوير والابتكار، أن المجلس دشن بوابة قطر للبحوث والتطوير والابتكار إيمانا بالدور الفعال الذي يمكن أن تلعبه منظومة الابتكار في تحقيق النمو الاقتصادي المستقبلي في قطر، ومن أجل تسهيل التواصل بين جميع أطراف المنظومة من الجهات الحكومية والمؤسسات الأكاديمية وقطاع الأعمال.

وأضاف أن المجلس يسعى من خلال هذه المنصة الوطنية إلى إيجاد فرص للتعاون في مشاريع البحوث والتطوير والابتكار التي تستهدف معالجة التحديات واستثمار الفرص على حد سواء، وستوفر هذه المنصة وسيلة فعالة للتعرف على الموارد والقدرات الوطنية في مجال الابتكار، والتي تزخر بها البنية التحتية عالمية المستوى التي استثمرت قطر في بنائها على مدى العقدين الماضيين.

الجدير بالذكر أن تدشين بوابة قطر للبحوث والتطوير والابتكار يأتي استجابة لاستراتيجية التنمية الوطنية الثانية التي تدعو لإطلاق منصة وآليات مشتركة لتحسين التعاون واستخدام الموارد التي تتميز بها كيانات البحوث في قطر، كما تعد البوابة إحدى الخطوات الهامة في تنفيذ استراتيجية قطر للبحوث والتطوير والابتكار 2030، والتي أعدها مجلس قطر للبحوث والتطوير والابتكار، حيث ترتكز على سبعة مسارات ضرورية لتحويل منظومة البحوث والتطوير والابتكار في قطر، ومن بينها مسار “نظم معلومات البحوث والتطوير والابتكار”، والذي يعتبر إتاحة المعلومات والبيانات عنصرا أساسيا .
