Real estate expert: Rents in Qatar increased by 20% in 6 months

A real estate expert confirmed that there has been an increase in real estate prices and apartment rents recently in many places in Doha, sometimes up to 20%.

“We’ve seen an increase in rent compared to the last 6 months, which could be as high as 20%, especially in Lusail and The Pearl,” real estate expert Nusair Omar Al Ejli said in an interview with Qatar Tv’s Pulse of the Economy.

He added: “The general work mechanism of all landlords has become to increase prices, which has led tenants to circumvent this increase by requesting a two-year renewal of the contract, so that the tenant can survive another increase that may be justified or unjustified.

When asked about the price increase, whether it was justified or not, Nusair Omar Al Ejli said: “The real estate market, like any other market, is subject to supply and demand,” .

أكد خبير عقاري أن هناك زيادة في أسعار العقارات وإيجارات الشقق مؤخراً في أماكن كثيرة بالدوحة وصلت أحياناً إلى 20%.

وقال الخبير العقاري نسير عمر العجلي خلال مقابلة مع برنامج “نبض الاقتصاد” على تلفزيون قطر: “لمسنا زيادة في الإيجار مقارنة مع الـ6 أشهر الماضية قد تصل إلى 20% خاصة في لوسيل واللؤلؤة.”

وأضاف: أصبح السمت العام لدى جميع أصحاب العقارات هو زيادة الأسعار، مما دفع المستأجرين إلى التحايل على هذه الزيادة عبر طلب تجديد العقد لمدة سنتين، كي ينجو المستأجر من زيادة أخرى قد تكون مبررة أو غير مبررة.

ورداً على السؤال “هل زيادة الأسعار مبررة أم لا؟”، قال نسير عمر العجلي: “إن السوق العقاري كأي سوق آخر يخضع للعرض والطلب.”
