Qatar first among Gulf states in anti-corruption index

Qatar ranked first in the Gulf and second in the Arab world in the 2021 global anti-corruption index, while Saudi Arabia ranked second in the Gulf and third in the Arab world.
Qatar ranked second in the Arab world and 59th in the world, after Jordan, which ranked first in the Arab world and 57th in the world, according to a report by the Swiss global risk data company.
Saudi Arabia ranked third in the Arab world and 66th in the world, while Oman ranked third in the Gulf, fourth in the Arab world and 70th in the world, according to Kuwait’s Al-Qabas on Thursday.
The UAE ranked fourth in the Gulf, fifth in the Arab world and 73rd in the world, followed by Bahrain in fifth place in the Gulf, sixth in the Arab world and 82nd in the world.
Kuwait came last on the list of Gulf states and ranked eighth in the Arab world and 88th in the world, but jumped 39 degrees from last year when it was ranked 127th in the world.
The index provides an assessment of the state of corruption and crimes of high-ranking officials associated with money laundering and financing of terrorism to 196 countries around the world.
The new version of the index came with significant improvements including additional risk measures.
Finland ranked first in the global corruption index this year, followed by Norway, New Zealand, Denmark and Sweden.
The countries with the highest risks in the global corruption index are Congo, Yemen, Libya, Syria and North Korea, which ranked last.

احتلت دولة قطر المرتبة الأولى خليجياً والثانية عربياً في مؤشر مكافحة الفساد عالمياً للعام 2021، فيما حلت المملكة العربية السعودية في المرتبة الثانية خليجياً والثالثة عربياً.
وجاءت قطر في المرتبة الثانية عربياً والـ59 عالمياً، بعد الأردن الذي جاء في المرتبة الأولى عربياً والـ57 عالمياً، وفقاً لتقرير شركة بيانات المخاطر العالمية السويسرية.
وبحسب ما نشرته “القبس” الكويتية، الخميس، فقد جاءت السعودية في المرتبة الثالثة عربياً والـ66 عالمياً، فيما جاءت سلطنة عمان في المرتبة الثالثة خليجياً والرابعة عربياً والـ70 عالمياً.
واحتلت الإمارات المرتبة الرابعة خليجياً والخامسة عربياً والـ73 عالمياً، تلتها البحرين في المرتبة الخامسة خليجياً والسادسة عربياً والـ82 عالمياً.
وجاءت الكويت في آخر قائمة الدول الخليجية وحلّت في المرتبة الثامنة عربياً والـ88 عالمياً، لكنها قفزت 39 درجة عن العام الماضي عندما كانت في المرتبة الـ127 عالمياً.
ويقدم المؤشر تقييماً لحالة الفساد وجرائم ذوي المسؤولين الكبار المرتبطة بغسل الأموال وتمويل الإرهاب لـ196 دولة في أنحاء العالم.
وجاء الإصدار الجديد من المؤشر مع تحسينات كبيرة تشمل تدابير إضافية للمخاطر.
واحتلت فنلندا المرتبة الأولى في مؤشر الفساد العالمي هذا العام، تلتها النرويج ونيوزيلندا والدنمارك والسويد.
أما الدول التي تمثل أعلى المخاطر في مؤشر الفساد العالمي فهي: الكونغو واليمن وليبيا وسوريا وكوريا الشمالية التي جاءت في المرتبة الأخيرة.
