A number of citizens said that the rental rates for villas are very high, illogical and almost close to hotel prices, and that this increase in prices is not justified, especially since these villas do not provide any services as this amount is paid for renting the place only and, of course, the tenant has to bring his food and clean the place himself.
They explained in a survey conducted by Al-Sharq that the amount of insurance, which is at least 1,000 riyals, weighs heavily on the tenant, even if it is subsequently recovered.
They assured Al-Sharq that most of Qatar’s entertainment areas are expensive and talk here is not just about villas, the outrageous cost includes malls, cinemas, amusement parks and others.
They pointed out that a good segment of citizens and residents are no longer able to go out and have fun for the simple reason that the amount of 1000 riyals is the least that can be spent outside, and this amount is paid for simple recreational services that may not exceed the duration of one hour.
They called on stakeholders to review prices and find solutions in line with the purchasing power of citizens and residents.

قال عدد من المواطنين إن أسعار تأجير الاستراحات مرتفعة جداً وغير منطقية وتكاد تكون قريبة من أسعار الفنادق، وأن هذا الارتفاع في الأسعار ليس له أي مبرر خاصة وأن هذه الاستراحات لا تقدم أي خدمات. حيث أن هذا المبلغ يتم دفعه مقابل استئجار المكان فقط وبالطبع فإن على المستأجر أن يجلب طعامه وأن يقوم بتنظيف المكان بنفسه.
وأوضحوا في استطلاع أجرته الشرق أن مبلغ التأمين الذي لا يقل عن 1000 ريال يثقل كاهل المستأجر حتى وإن تم استرجاعه فيما بعد.
وأكدوا لـ الشرق أن أغلب مناطق الترفيه في قطر باهظة التكاليف والحديث هنا ليس عن الاستراحات فقط، فالغلاء الفاحش يشمل المجمعات، والسينما، والملاهي وغيرها.
وأشاروا إلى أن شريحة لا بأس بها من المواطنين والمقيمين لم تعد قادرة على الخروج والترويح عن النفس لسبب بسيط هو أن مبلغ 1000 ريال هو أقل ما يمكن أن يُصرف خلال النزهة، وهذا المبلغ يُدفع مقابل خدمات ترفيهية بسيطة قد لا تتعدى مدتها الساعة.
وطالبوا الجهات المعنية بإعادة مراجعة الأسعار وإيجاد حلول تتماشى مع القدرة الشرائية للمواطن والمقيم.
