3 years imprisonment and a fine of 100 thousand riyals for those who publish fake advertisements

Doha: The Minstry of Municipality presented by the committee for the Accreditation and Classification of Engineers and Engineering Consultations Offices, notes that it has been recently noticed, that some contracting companies and other companies of other business activities, have published advertisements to inform the public, that they are carrying out some engineering consultancy work, such as desgin, supervision and others, which violates in the state of Qatar, amended by law No. (2) of 2014, and the Ministerial Decision No. (226) of 2016 in The Executive Regulation Law.

The Committee has stressed on thw law violation of publishing such illegal adverts, and that it exposes the perpetrator to legal accountability, and penalty of imprisonment for up to 3 years, and a fine of 100,000 riyals.

The Ministry has warned any company not to publish adverts with the purpose of deluging the public, about conducting engineering practices, unless it has a professional licensure from the committee, in the event of violation, the matter will be referred to the competent judical authorities to take the necessary legal action.

الدوحة: تنّوه وزارة البلدية ممثلة بلجنة قبول و تصنيف المهندسين ومكاتب الاستشارات الهندسية، بأنه لوحظ في الآونة الأخيرة قيام بعض شركات المقاولات وغيرها من الشركات ذات الأنشطة التجارية الأخرى، بنشر إعلانات لإيهام الجمهور بأنها تقوم بأعمال استشارات هندسية مثل التصميم والإشراف وغيرها، وذلك بالمخالفة للقانون رقم (19) لسنة 2005م بشأن تنظيم مزاولة المهن الهندسية بدولة قطر، والمعدل بالقانون رقم (2) لسنة 2014م، والقرار الوزاري رقم (226) لسنة 2016 باللائحة التنفيذية للقانون.

وأكدت الوزارة إن القيام بنشر مثل هذه الإعلانات المخالفة للقانون، يعرّض مرتكبه للمساءلة القانونية والعقوبة التي تتمثل في السجن لمدة لا تتجاوز 3 سنوات والغرامة التي تبلغ 100 ألف ريال.

وحذرت الوزارة أية شركات من نشر إعلانات بغرض إيهام الجمهور بمزاولة المهن الهندسية، إلا إذا كانت حاصلة على ترخيص مزاولة المهنة من اللجنة، وفي حال المخالفة سيتم إحالة الموضوع إلى الجهات القضائية المختصة لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة.
