3rd Qatar Trade Summit Kicks Off

Doha: The 3rd edition of Qatar Trade Summit kicked off Tuesday with the participation of local and international experts in the fields of sea ports, air cargo, supply chain, technology and logistics.

Participants in the two-day summit will discuss the reality of Qatar as a preferred investment destination in the region, the available economic opportunities, the future of Qatar’s ports, smart port solutions and opportunities, the integration of the 5G technology in ports and free zones, and innovation and technology trends affecting the development of ports.

The participants will also discuss the reality of the shipping industry and future growth prospects, the main trends shaping the shipbuilding sector, air cargo and its dominance in the logistics market, supply chain trends and market capitalization in light of the current challenges.

The firs day of Qatar Trade Summit hosted officials from vital sectors in the country to talk about the prospects for trade and economic growth in the State of Qatar, building smarter supply chains, disruptive technologies used in manufacturing, role of blockchain in transparent transactions, sustainable future, air cargo prospect and international partnerships.

The agenda of the first day started with panel hosting CEO of FIFA World Cup 2022 Nasser Al Khater who spoke about Qatar’s hosting of the Arab Cup and the importance of the event in demonstrating the preparations for the World Cup 2022; and the role of these continental and global tournaments in stimulating economic activity, modernizing infrastructure and promoting a sustainable economy.

The press conference held as part of the activities of the first day of the summit enlightened the path to Qatars growth and modern capabilities with main emphasis on how the technology is contributing to the economic growth of the country. Speakers noted the digitization and automation of ports by bringing in automated cranes and cutting edge technology that has reduced the human involvement.

The conference featured presentations on digitizing the entire supply chain to accelerate logistics services, in light of the strengthening of Qatar’s position in the global economy with the new developments in the field of air and sea freight and the country’s digital development.

الدوحة: بدأت، يوم أمس، أعمال النسخة الثالثة من مؤتمر” قمة قطر للتجارة” التي تعقد على مدى يومين بمشاركة خبراء دوليين ومحليين في مجالات الموانئ البحريّة والشحن الجوي وسلسلة التوريد والتكنولوجيا واللوجستية.

ويناقش المشاركون واقع دولة قطر كوجهة استثمارية مفضلة في المنطقة، والفرص الاقتصادية المتوفرة، ومستقبل موانئ قطر، وحلول وفرص الموانئ الذكية، وتكامل تقنية الجيل الخامس في المنافذ والمناطق الحرة، واتجاهات الابتكار والتكنولوجيا المؤثرة في تطوير الموانئ.

كما يناقش المشاركون، واقع صناعة الشحن وآفاق النمو المستقبليّة، والاتجاهات الرئيسية التي تشكل قطاع بناء السفن، والشحن الجوي وهيمنته على سوق الخدمات اللوجستيّة، واتجاهات سلسلة التوريد ورسملة السوق في ظل التحديات الراهنة.

واستضاف اليوم الأول من” قمة قطر التجارية” مسؤولين عن بعض القطاعات الحيوية في الدولة للحديث عن آفاق التجارة والنمو الاقتصادي في دولة قطر ، وبناء سلاسل توريد أكثر ذكاءً ، والتقنيات المستخدمة في التصنيع ، ودور /blockchain/ في المعاملات الشفافة ، والمستقبل المستدام ، والشحن الجوي، وغيرها من الموضوعات ، كما عرضت تجارب بعض القطاعات في دول مختلفة.

وفي إطار أعمال اليوم الأول، تحدث السيد ناصر الخاطر الرئيس التنفيذي لبطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم /FIFA قطر 2022/، عن استضافة قطر لكأس العرب، وأهميتها كمحطة أخرى لتأكيد الاستعدادات للمونديال في العام المقبل، ودور هذه البطولات القارية والعالمية في تحفيز النشاط الاقتصادي وتحديث البنى التحية وتعزيز الاقتصاد المستدام.

كما سلط المؤتمر الضوء على مسار نمو قطر وقدراتها الحديثة مع التركيز بشكل رئيسي على كيفية مساهمة التكنولوجيا في النمو الاقتصادي للدولة، حيث أشار متحدثون إلى رقمنة وأتمتة الموانئ من خلال جلب الرافعات الآلية والتكنولوجيا المتطورة التي قللت من المشاركة البشرية .

كما شهد المؤتمر عروضا عن رقمنة سلسلة التوريد بأكملها لتسريع الخدمات اللوجستية، وذلك في ضوء تعزيز مكانة دولة قطر في الاقتصاد العالمي مع التطورات الجديدة في مجال الشحن الجوي والبحري والتطور الرقمي في البلاد.
