Qatar Leaders Connect at Google Next ’21

Doha: Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZA) and Google Cloud co-hosted “Qatar Leaders Connect at Google Next ’21”. The event highlighted the latest technologies, new research, and developments to enhance the digital business transformation and applications of the Cloud.

QFZA Deputy CEO Abdulla Al Misnad, and Google Cloud Qatar Country Manager Ghassan Kosta hosted the event, which included representatives from Qatar’s rapidly growing technology industry, including CIOs and CTOs from major global firms.

The event also included presentations from major companies, in addition to global online participation, on the role of technology in digital transformation and the potential of the Cloud in Qatar and the world. The participants presented their ideas and experiences related to the application of cloud computing technology and services, and the impact it had on the success and growth of their businesses.

Abdulla Al Misnad, Deputy CEO at QFZA, said, “It was a pleasure to host this event with Google Cloud as part of our ongoing efforts to support the continued growth and development of the technology sector in Qatar, as well as the expansion of our data offering within Qatar Free Zones. The event was fruitful and enjoyable, giving leaders in Qatar’s technology space the chance to connect and learn from one another. It was a perfect expression of our broader mission to provide effective platforms for innovation and connectivity.”

QFZA’s long-running strategic collaboration agreement with Google Cloud includes the development of a Google Cloud region in Qatar as well as a Google Cloud Center of Excellence in Qatar Free Zones. The cooperation with QFZA also supports the expansion of Google Cloud in the region, as the Authority works on enhancing its offerings to investors by providing world-class data capabilities and facilities for research and training.

Ghassan Kosta, Qatar Country Manager at Google Cloud said, “Helping Qatar organizations adopt cloud technology is not just about putting the solution in front of them but ensuring those solutions can be adopted and address business needs. Qatar is in the midst of rapid digital growth across all industries, including as part of preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2022 – the world’s biggest global sporting event. الدوحة: استضافت هيئة المناطق الحرة وشركة /جوجل كلاود – Google Cloud/ فعاليات “ملتقى المؤسسات المشاركة في جوجل نكست 21 في قطر”، الذي سلط الضوء على أحدث التقنيات المتاحة، والبحوث الجديدة، وآخر التطورات لتعزيز التحول الرقمي الشامل للأعمال والعديد من تطبيقات الخدمات السحابية.

شارك في الملتقى كل من السيد عبدالله المسند نائب الرئيس التنفيذي لهيئة المناطق الحرة، والسيد غسان كوستا المدير العام لشركة/ جوجل كلاود/ في قطر، وعدد من ممثلي قطاع التكنولوجيا في قطر، وممثلي الشركات العالمية الكبرى.

وشمل الملتقى عروضاً تقديمية تناولت دور التكنولوجيا في دفع التحول الرقمي والخدمات السحابية في دولة قطر والعالم، حيث عرض المشاركون أفكارهم وتجاربهم الخاصة المتعلقة بتطبيق تكنولوجيا وخدمات الحوسبة السحابية، ومدى تأثيرها على نجاح وازدهار أعمالهم.

وفي كلمة بالمناسبة، قال السيد عبدالله المسند، نائب الرئيس التنفيذي لهيئة المناطق الحرة، إن استضافة هذا الملتقى بالتعاون مع /جوجل كلاود/ تأتي في إطار جهود الهيئة المستمرة لدعم نمو وتطوير قطاع التكنولوجيا في دولة قطر، وتعزيز قطاع البيانات في المناطق الحرة.

وأضاف أن الملتقى كان مثمراً وناجحاً للغاية، وأتاح لقادة قطاع التكنولوجيا في الدولة الفرصة للتواصل وتبادل المعرفة، فضلا عن أنه عبر عن استراتيجية الهيئة الرامية إلى توفير منصات فعالة للابتكار والتواصل.

وتتضمن اتفاقية التعاون الاستراتيجي الطويلة الأجل لهيئة المناطق الحرة مع /جوجل كلاود/، إنشاء مركز تدريب جديد للتميز في المناطق الحرة، بالإضافة الى تطوير مركز إقليمي جديد للخدمات السحابية في قطر، حيث تدعم الهيئة توسع /جوجل كلاود/ في المنطقة، وفي نفس الوقت تعمل على تطوير عروضها للمستثمرين بتوفير قدرات بيانات ذات مستوى عالمي ومرافق مخصصة للبحث والتدريب.

من جهته، قال السيد غسان كوستا، إن مساعدة المؤسسات القطرية في اعتماد تكنولوجيا الحوسبة السحابية لا تقتصر على وضع حلول مناسبة أمامها فحسب، بل تتضمن دراسة إمكانية تطبيق هذه الحلول والقدرة على استخدامها لتلبية احتياجات العمل.

وأضاف أن الشركة تعمل نعمل على تلبية احتياجات العملاء وتمكين المؤسسات من الاستفادة من كل ما تقدمه تكنولوجيا الحوسبة السحابية، كما تقدم الدعم اللازم لهم في بداية المشوار لمساعدتهم على تبني أفضل الممارسات في مجال الحوسبة السحابية والانتقال بأمان إلى الخدمات السحابية الموثوقة.

وتشهد دولة قطر نمواً رقمياً كبيراً وسريعاً على مستوى جميع القطاعات، ويندرج ذلك في إطار الاستعدادات لاستضافة الحدث الرياضي الأكبر في العالم، وهو بطولة كأس العالم فيفا قطر 2022، حيث تساهم الشراكات في قطاع التكنولوجيا في توفير سوق جاذبة للشركات الأجنبية والمشاريع الصغيرة والمتوسطة والشركات الناشئة التي تقدم حلولاً قائمة على الابتكار.
