Over-dependency on the State consumes national resources: Citizens to Al-Sharq

A number of citizens warned of the danger of dependency and non-self-reliance and calling for rights without fulfilling duties and assured to Al-Sharq that the dependency on the state and taking rights without carrying out duties is a negative behaviour that must be addressed, guided by the high speech delivered by HH Amir of the country Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in front of the Shura Council recently, where His Highness pointed out the importance of asking the individual what he has offered from his position in the service of his community and what his contribution is in building this country and is he doing his job to the fullest and does he appreciate the work of others.

Pointing out that dependency may affect the citizen because of the high living standards which lead him to depend on others from a young age and does not take responsibility, so the dependency grows with him and may reach his place of work so that he is an employee who fails to perform the tasks and responsibilities assigned to him. They called for the need to find a mechanism to fight the behaviors of indebtedness and evade tasks and instill enthusiasm and motivation among citizens for further achievements and to contribute to the service of Qatar.

They stressed that the citizen’s dependence at all times and excessively on what the state provides has major damage and is a disruption to the development and renaissance process in the country, as it thus becomes a burden on the state and a consumption of national resources.

They called for addressing the challenges posed by the high rate of well-being provided by the State by recognizing the risks of consumable life values dominance, underestimating the intangible aspects of life, not appreciating productive work, not enjoying what the individual has because he is always busy demanding more consumption, easy borrowing for transient, unnecessary and temporary purposes, and excessive dependency on the State.

حذر عدد من المواطنين من خطورة الاتكالية وعدم الاعتماد على النفس والمناداة بالحقوق دون القيام بالواجبات وأكدوا لـ الشرق أن الاتكالية على الدولة وأخذ الحقوق دون القيام بالواجبات سلبية يجب معالجتها مسترشدين بذلك بالخطاب السامي الذي ألقاه حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى أمام مجلس الشورى مؤخرا، حيث أشار صاحب السمو إلى أهمية أن يتساءل الفرد ماذا قدم من موقعه في خدمة مجتمعه وما هي مساهمته في بناء هذا الوطن وهل يقوم بعمله على أكمل وجه وهل يقدر عمل الآخرين..

لافتين إلى أن الاتكالية ربما تصيب المواطن بسبب نسبة الرفاهية المعيشية العالية فيعتمد في أداء مهامه على الغير منذ الصغر ولا يتحمل المسؤولية فتكبر معه الاتكالية وربما تصل إلى مكان عمله فيكون موظفا متقاعسا في أداء المهام والمسؤوليات الموكلة إليه.. وطالبوا بضرورة إيجاد آلية لمحاربة سلوكيات الاستدانة والتهرب من المهام وبث الحماس والدافعية في نفوس المواطنين للمزيد من الانجازات وللمساهمة في خدمة قطر.

مؤكدين أن اعتماد المواطن في كل الأوقات وبشكل مبالغ فيه على ما توفره الدولة له أضرار كبيرة يعتبر تعطيلا لمسيرة التنمية والنهضة في البلاد، حيث أنه بذلك يصبح عبئا على الدولة واستهلاكا للموارد الوطنية.

ودعوا إلى مواجهة التحديات التي فرضتها درجة الرفاهية العالية التي وفرتها الدولة وذلك من خلال إدراك مخاطر هيمنة قيم الحياة الاستهلاكية، والاستخفاف بالجوانب غير المادية في الحياة، وعدم تقدير العمل المنتج، وعدم تمتع الفرد بما يتوفر لديه لأنه منشغل دائماً بطلب المزيد من الاستهلاك، واستسهال الاستدانة لأغراض آنية عابرة وغير ضرورية، والاتكالية المبالغ فيها على الدولة.
