Dr. Al-Maslamani Explains why citizens don’t need health insurance

Doha: Dr. Yousef Al-Maslamani, Medical Director of Hamad Hospital, confirmed that Law No. 22 of 2021 on the regulation of health care services within the State aims to provide the right treatment in the right place for all.
In an interview with Qatar TV, Dr. Al-Maslamani explained that it is the state’s mission to provide treatment to citizens in its health facilities, and treatment will be provided to the citizen, so the citizen does not need health insurance to access the appropriate treatment for their illness.
The medical director of Hamad Hospital said that one of the most important implications of this decision is that the appropriate patient receives the appropriate care in the right place, where health care will be provided in specialized hospitals or PHCC centers.
He explained that society will be divided into health categories depending on the patient’s need for primary care or specialized services.
The Coronavirus pandemic had necessitated cooperation between public and private institutions to defeat the spread of the virus in society.
He also noted that there are specialties that do not exist in the private sector and that patients would be transferred from the private sector to specialized public hospitals.
On current medical conditions until the new law is implemented, Dr. Yousuf Al-Maslamani said: The current system will continue until 6 months from now.

الدوحة: أكد الدكتور يوسف المسلماني المدير الطبي لمستشفى حمد أن القانون رقم (22) لسنة 2021 الخاص بتنظيم خدمات الرعاية الصحية داخل الدولة يهدف إلى توفير العلاح المناسب في المكان المناسب للجميع.
وأوضح الدكتور المسلماني – في مقابلة مع تليفزيون قطر – أن من مهمة الدولة توفير العلاج للمواطن في منشآتها الصحية، وسيتم توفير العلاج للمواطن وبالتالي فإن المواطن لا يحتاج إلى تأمين صحي للوصول إلى العلاج المناسب لمرضه.
وقال المدير الطبي لمستشفى حمد إن من أهم مضامين هذا القرار أن المريض المناسب يحصل على العناية المناسبة في المكان المناسب، حيث سيتم تحديد أماكن العناية في المستشفيات التخصصية أو مراكز الرعاية الأولية.
وأوضح أنه سيتم تقسيم المجتمع إلى فئات صحية حسب حاجة المريض إلى الرعاية أولية أو الخدمات تخصصية.
وأشار إلى أن جائحة فيروس كورونا استدعت الحاجة للتعاون بين المؤسسات العامة والخاصة لدحر انتشار الفيروس في المجدتمع.
كما أشار إلى أن هناك تخصصات غير موجودة في القطاع الخاص وسيتم تحويل المرضى من القطاع الخاص إلى المستشفيات العامة التخصصية.
وحول الحالات الطبية الحالية حتى تطبيق القانون الجديد، قال الدكتور يوسف المسلماني: سيستمر العمل بالنظام الحالي حتى 6 شهور من الآن.
