Capitals: Hundreds of millions of users of social media and E-commerce platforms in the world faced a disruption on the Internet, as the Facebook website was down, in addition to Instagram and WhatsApp, as well as Google and Amazon.
The “Downdetector” website – which monitors Internet malfunctions – indicated that the services of the three social networks were interrupted in densely populated areas – including the Middle East, Washington and Paris – and the reporting of the malfunction began around 15:45 GMT. The same site also referred to reports of a malfunction in the “TikTok” application.
Facebook users in areas that experienced the outage found a message indicating that there was a failure in the domain name system, and that work was being done to resolve it. Meanwhile, the social media Giant’s WhatsApp platform also crashed for many users, and the Messenger app services stopped.
“We understand that some are having trouble accessing our apps and products,” Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone tweeted, “We are working to get things back to normal as soon as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
“Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, and you may be having issues using them.” the Instagram account tweeted. We are working to solve this.”, “We understand that some people are having problems using WhatsApp now. “Downdetector” reported of malfunctions on Google, Amazon and Twitter. Mobile phone failures were also reported in the United States.
Facebook shares immediately fell 5.3%, and the share price reached $325, compared to its start-up price of $335 in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Mark Zuckerberg’s personal wealth fell by nearly $7 billion in a few hours, slightly falling on the list of the world’s richest people, after a former production manager reported irregularities on Facebook and after some of the company’s apps and products were disrupted.
The sale caused the social media giant’s shares to fall by about 5%, after falling by about 15% since mid-September. Facebook’s drop on Monday reduced Zuckerberg’s fortune to $120.9 billion, slipping after Bill Gates to fifth place in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

ووجد مستخدمو فيسبوك في المناطق التي شهدت انقطاع خدمته رسالة تشير إلى وجود عطل في نظام اسم النطاق، وأن العمل يجري لحلّه. وفي الوقت نفسه، تعطلت منصة واتساب الخاصة بعملاق وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي أيضًا عند كثير من المستخدمين، وتوقفت خدمات «ماسنجر» . وقال المتحدث باسم فيسبوك آندي ستون عبر تويتر «ندرك أن البعض يواجهون مشكلة في الوصول إلى تطبيقاتنا ومنتجاتنا. ونعمل على إعادة الأمور إلى طبيعتها في أسرع وقت ممكن، نعتذر عن أي إزعاج» .
