MoCI Inaugurates Qatar’s Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

Dubai: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry inaugurated the State of Qatar’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, taking place from Oct. 1, 2021, until March 31, 2022, under the slogan: “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.

In a statement on this occasion, HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater said that the pavilion, themed: ‘Qatar: The Future is Now’, was a distinguished platform for strengthening commercial, industrial, and investment cooperation relations with the various countries participating in the exhibition, adding that buttressing such relations contribute to supporting the economic sectors that serve Qatar’s development trends, including the industry, trade, and tourism sectors.

HE Al Khater added that Qatar was keen, during its participation in this year’s international Expo, to shed light on the development that has been achieved in all fields, especially in terms of national industries, the digital transformation of government services, and various creativity and innovation fields, expressing his confidence that the pavilion would be distinguished, iconic, and a source of inspiration for all visitors.

After the inauguration ceremony, HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry toured Qatar’s pavilion, during which he was briefed on the most prominent pioneering mega projects that have been completed within the framework of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the preparations for hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as well as the developmental achievements made by the country in various fields.

HE Al Khater visited GCC countries’ pavilions, during which he was briefed on their advantages and the most prominent services and projects previewed.

For his part, General Commissioner of the Qatar Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai Nasser bin Mohammed Al Muhannadi explained that the country’s march towards achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030 was highlighted, in addition to shedding light on the incentives and investment opportunities provided by the State to implement its economic diversification plans, as per the Qatar Second National Development Strategy 2018- 2022.

Spanning over about 960 sqm, with a built-up area of 620 sqm Qatar’s pavilion includes two main galleries and exhibition spaces showcasing Qatar’s history and culture, using the latest virtual reality technologies.

Qatar’s pavilion reflects a number of sub-themes of Expo 2020 Dubai’s main slogan referring to sustainability, mobility, and opportunities, aligning with Qatar’s present and future vision and outlook.

Through its participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, Qatar seeks to consolidate its role as a safe and leading global hub for tourism and business and to highlight national efforts to preserve national resources by investing in sustainable development and environmental protection, in addition to constructing green buildings to support the growth of human capital.

Additionally, the State aims during its participation in Expo 2020 Dubai to review its efforts to lead and stimulate innovation in the fields of science and technology in a way that supports future sustainable development in Qatar. It also seeks to highlight its initiatives that stimulate creativity by supporting and endorsing artistic and cultural works that would bolster bridges of communication between all countries worldwide.

وفي تصريح له بهذه المناسبة، أوضح سعادة السيد سلطان بن راشد الخاطر وكيل وزارة التجارة والصناعة، أن جناح دولة قطر والذي جاء تحت شعار /قطر: المستقبل هو الآن Qatar: The Future Is Now/ يعد منصة متميزة لتعزيز علاقات التعاون التجاري والصناعي والاستثماري مع مختلف الدول المشاركة في المعرض، مؤكدا أن ذلك سيسهم في دعم القطاعات الاقتصادية التي تخدم التوجهات التنموية للدولة من بينها قطاعات الصناعة والتجارة والسياحة.

ولفت إلى أن الدولة حرصت خلال مشاركتها في نسخة هذا العام من معارض إكسبو الدولية على تسليط الضوء على التطور الذي تم تحقيقه في كافة المجالات، لا سيما في مجال الصناعات الوطنية، والتحول الرقمي للخدمات الحكومية، إلى جانب مختلف مجالات الإبداع والابتكار، معربا عن ثقته في أن الجناح سيكون أيقونة متميزة ومصدر إلهام لكافة الزوار.

وقام سعادة وكيل وزارة التجارة والصناعة عقب الافتتاح بجولة في جناح دولة قطر، اطلع خلالها على أبرز المشاريع الضخمة والرائدة التي تم استكمالها في إطار تنفيذ رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030 ، واستضافة فعاليات كأس العالم /فيفا قطر 2022/، والإنجازات التنموية التي حققتها الدولة في مختلف المجالات.

ثم قام سعادته بزيارة أجنحة دول مجلس التعاون، واطلع خلالها على مميزاتها، وأبرز ما تم استعراضه من خدمات ومشاريع.

من جانبه، أوضح السيد ناصر محمد المهندي المفوض العام ورئيس لجنة الإعداد والتحضير لمشاركة دولة قطر في معرض /إكسبو 2020 دبي/، أن فعاليات جناح دولة قطر تسلط الضوء على مسيرة الدولة نحو تحقيق رؤيتها الوطنية 2030، فضلا عن استعراض الحوافز والفرص الاستثمارية التي توفرها الدولة لتنفيذ خططها الرامية لتحقيق التنوع الاقتصادي وفق محددات استراتيجية التنمية الوطنية 2018-2022.

ويشمل جناح دولة قطر معرضين رئيسيين، ومساحات عرض تسرد تاريخ دولة قطر وثقافتها باستخدام أحدث تقنيات الواقع الافتراضي، حيث تبلغ المساحة الإجمالية للجناح حوالي 960 متر مربع ، بينما تبلغ المساحة التي تم بناؤها حوالي 620 متر مربع.

ويعكس جناح دولة قطر عددا من المحاور الفرعية للشعار الرئيسي لمعرض /إكسبو 2020 دبي/ في مجالات الاستدامة والتنقل والفرص، بما يتوافق مع تصور ورؤية دولة قطر لحاضرها ومستقبلها.

وتسعى الدولة خلال مشاركتها في المعرض إلى ترسيخ دورها كمحور عالمي آمن ورائد للسياحة والأعمال، وتسليط الضوء على الجهود الوطنية الرامية للحفاظ على موارد الدولة من خلال الاستثمار في التنمية المستدامة وحماية البيئة، وتشييد المباني الخضراء بما يدعم نمو رأس المال البشري.

إلى جانب ذلك تهدف الدولة من خلال مشاركتها في معرض /إكسبو 2020 دبي/ إلى استعراض جهودها في سبيل قيادة وتحفيز الابتكار في مجالات العلوم والتكنولوجيا بما يدعم التنمية المستدامة للدولة في المستقبل، وتسليط الضوء على مبادراتها المحفزة على الإبداع من خلال دعم وتبني الأعمال الفنية والثقافية التي من شأنها أن تعزز جسور التواصل بين كافة دول العالم.
