Work begins on new tourist destination in Doha Ras Bu Abboud beach

بدء تطوير شاطئ «راس بوعبود» وتحويله إلى وجهة سياحية

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has started implementing the first package of Ras Bu Abboud Beach Development Project, as part of the works of the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar.

The project will prepare the beach to be a leisure and tourist destination for all the people and visitors to Qatar, in addition to developing the road leading to the beach and Ras Bu Abboud Stadium. The completion of first package of the project is scheduled in the second quarter of 2020. 

Engineer Jazmine Al Sheikh, Design Manager of the Project at the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar at Ashghal, said that Ras Bu Abboud beach development project aims to turn the beach into a tourist and family destination, especially as it is located in a distinguished area that qualifies it to be one of the main tourist attractions in Qatar. The project will be implemented on an area of 260,000sqm with a length of 2.2km, to serve all of Qatar’s citizens, residents and visitors, especially those who are located in the surrounding areas.

She added that the project includes preparing the beach to become a suitable recreational destination for practising beach activities such as swimming and relaxing. It includes an area designated for sports activities. The project includes the construction of a pedestrian and cycling path with a length of 2.2km, in addition to providing bike racks, to make it easier for the beach visitors to exercise, jog, and cycle. Also, in order to provide a suitable healthy environment and to beautify the view of the beach, the project includes planting 11,500sqm of landscaping and about 500 trees.

The project includes providing buildings and service booths in four separate areas, including restaurants, cafes, toilets, etc. In addition to providing seating areas, umbrellas and beach showers to serve beach visitors.
To enhance safety on the beach and enable its users to benefit from it at night, a distinctive and high-tech lighting network will be implemented, including surveillance cameras and Wi-Fi devices. 

The project includes providing parking lots, including parking for people with special needs.

Slopes and paths that lead directly to the pedestrian and cycle paths have been implemented. 

The project also includes the implementation of construction and development of infrastructure, such as the construction of drinking water, irrigation and electricity networks, surveillance cameras and a network to provide Wi-Fi service.

بدأت هيئة الأشغال العامة «أشغال»، تنفيذ أعمال مشروع تطوير شاطئ راس بوعبود الحزمة الأولى، ضمن أعمال لجنة الإشراف على تجميل الطرق والأماكن العامة بالدولة.

وسوف يجري -من خلال المشروع- تهيئة الشاطئ ليكون وجهة ترفيهية وسياحية لجميع أهالي وزوار قطر، بالإضافة لإنشاء وتطوير الطريق المؤدي للشاطئ ولاستاد راس بوعبود.

ومن المقرر اكتمال أعمال الحزمة الأولى من المشروع بالربع الثاني من العام الحالي.

وأكدت المهندسة ياسمين الشيخ مدير تصميم المشروع بلجنة الإشراف على تجميل الطرق والأماكن العامة بالدولة في «أشغال»، أن مشروع تطوير شاطئ راس بوعبود يهدف إلى الاستفادة من الشاطئ وتحويله إلى مكان سياحي وعائلي، خاصة وأنه يقع في منطقة متميزة، تؤهله لأن يكون أحد المعالم السياحية بقطر.

وقالت: «سوف يتم تنفيذ المشروع على مساحة 260 ألف متر مربع وبطول 2.2 كيلو متراً، ويخدم المواطنين والمقيمين والزائرين وبالأخص مرتادي المناطق المحيطة به.

وأضافت أن المشروع يتضمن تهيئة الشاطئ الرملي حتى يصبح وجهة ترفيهية مناسبة لممارسة الأنشطة الشاطئية كالسباحة والاسترخاء، كما يتضمن منطقة مخصصة لممارسة الأنشطة الرياضية، ويشمل المشروع إنشاء مسار للمشاة وآخر للدراجات الهوائية بطول 2.2 كيلو متراً، بالإضافة إلى توفير مواقف للدراجات الهوائية، ليسهل على مرتادي الشاطئ ممارسة رياضة المشي أو الجري أو ركوب الدراجات الهوائية، لافتة إلى أنه من أجل توفير بيئة صحية ملائمة، ولتجميل المنظر العام للشاطئ، يشمل المشروع زراعة 11.5 ألف متر مربع من المسطحات الخضراء، وزراعة حوالي 500 شجرة.

ويشمل المشروع مباني وأكشاكاً خدمية في 4 مناطق متفرقة، تتضمن مطاعم ومقاهي ودورات مياه وغيرها، فضلاً عن توفير مقاعد للجلوس ومظلات ومناطق استحمام شاطئية لخدمة زوار الشاطئ.

ولتعزيز السلامة على الشاطئ وتمكين مرتاديه من الاستفادة به ليلاً، سوف يتم تنفيذ شبكة إنارة بتصميم مميز، وذات تقنية متطورة تشمل كاميرات مراقبة وأجهزة بث واي فاي «Wi-Fi».

ويشمل المشروع تنفيذ مواقف للسيارات من ضمنها مواقف مخصصة لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة، وقد تم تنفيذ منحدرات ومسارات تؤدي مباشرة إلى الممشى ومسارات الدراجات الهوائية.

ويتضمن المشروع تنفيذ أعمال إنشاء وتطوير البنية التحتية، مثل إنشاء شبكات المياه الصالحة للشرب والري والكهرباء وكاميرات المراقبة وشبكة للتزويد بخدمة الواي فاي.

وتعمل لجنة الإشراف على تجميل الطرق والأماكن العامة بالدولة، على تنفيذ 5 مهام رئيسية تتمثل في بناء حدائق عامة مركزية، وتوفير مسارات خاصة للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية، وتطوير كورنيش الدوحة، وتطوير منطقة الدوحة المركزية، بالإضافة إلى أعمال التشجير وزيادة المسطحات الخضراء، بالتنسيق مع عدة وزارات وهيئات حكومية بالدولة.
