PHCC Reports Great Success of ‘Safe Return to School’ Campaign

Doha: The Primary Health Care Corporation affirmed that the ‘Safe Return to School’ campaign, which was launched on Aug. 29 – coinciding with the beginning of the new school year 2021-2022, has achieved great and outstanding success in terms of enhancing efforts to protect students, as well as the teaching and administrative staff in schools, in the framework of combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The corporation said that the campaign has targeted all the 279 government schools, and it included all age groups (kindergarten, primary, preparatory and secondary schools), as well as workers in government schools and parents in general. It has recently revealed its update of the school-health protocol on the precautionary measures for health and safety during the pandemic in government schools, which includes all precautionary and preventive measures that help the assigned school team to monitor the school environment on a daily basis, to make it healthy and safe.

In this regard, Head of School Health Department at PHCC Dr. Layla Al Dahnaim said that the main goal of the campaign, which is scheduled to end tomorrow under the slogan ‘Defying COVID-19 With a Safe Return’, focused on the most important precautionary measures to prevent COVID-19 as well as the spread of infection among students and school workers, in addition to the importance of providing the necessary health awareness regarding the most common communicable and infectious diseases among students.

She explained that in order to reach the largest possible segment of students and parents in schools, many activities and awareness lectures for students were activated to promote and raise health awareness among students about the most common diseases, and methods of preventing the infection in their surrounding environment, whether at home, school or public places.

She also pointed out that the campaign included various events, such as interactive informative lectures suitable for all target age groups, presenting videos on healthcare tips and messages, and distributing brochures and informative posts via e-mails and social media, in addition to other entertaining and educational activities.

A number of school principals confirmed the great success of the campaign, despite the challenges facing the school community in particular during the pandemic, praising the efforts made by its organizers and participants in order to bring the school community to a healthy and safe environment for all.

الدوحة: أكدت مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية، أن حملة العودة للمدارس التي أطلقتها في 29 أغسطس الماضي تزامنا مع بدء العام الدراسي الجديد 2021- 2022، حققت نجاحا كبيرا ومتميزا من حيث تعزيز جهود حماية الطلاب والكادر التدريسي والإداري بالمدارس، في إطار التصدي لجائحة كورونا /كوفيد – 19/.

وقالت إن الحملة استهدفت كافة المدارس الحكومية وعددها 279 مدرسة، وشملت جميع الفئات العمرية في رياض الأطفال والابتدائي والإعدادي والثانوي، إلى جانب العاملين في المدارس الحكومية وأولياء الأمور بشكل عام، حيث كانت قد كشفت مؤخرا عن تحديثها لبروتوكول الصحة المدرسية حول الإجراءات الاحترازية للصحة والسلامة أثناء الجائحة في المدارس الحكومية، والذي يتضمن كافة الإجراءات الاحترازية والوقائية التي تساعد الفريق المدرسي المكلف على متابعة البيئة المدرسية بشكل دقيق ويومي، لجعلها صحية وآمنة.

وفي هذا الصدد قالت الدكتورة ليلى الدهنيم مدير إدارة الصحة المدرسية بمؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية، إن الهدف العام للحملة التي من المقرر أن تختتم فعالياتها غدا /الخميس/ تحت شعار /عودة آمنة تتحدى الكورونا/ ركز على أهم الإجراءات الاحترازية اللازمة للوقاية من فيروس /كورونا/ ومنع انتشار العدوى بين الطلاب والعاملين في المدارس، إضافة للطرق الكفيلة بالحد من انتشارها والوقاية منها، وأهمية تقديم التوعية الصحية اللازمة فيما يتعلق بالأمراض الانتقالية والمعدية الأكثر شيوعا بين الطلبة.

وأوضحت أنه بهدف الوصول لأكبر شريحة ممكنة من الطلاب وأولياء الأمور بالمدارس، تم تفعيل العديد من الأنشطة والمحاضرات التوعوية للطلبة لتعزيز ورفع الوعي الصحي لدى الطلاب حول الأمراض الأكثر شيوعا، وكيفية اتباع طرق الوقاية ومكافحة العدوى في بيئتهم المحيطة سواء في البيت أو المدرسة أو الأماكن العامة، مبينة أن الحملة تضمنت فعاليات متنوعة، منها محاضرات تثقيفية تفاعلية تتناسب مع كافة الفئات العمرية المستهدفة، وعرض فيديوهات تحتوي على نصائح ورسائل صحية وتوزيع المطويات والمنشورات التثقيفية عن طريق الرسائل الإلكترونية ووسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، وغيرها من الأنشطة الترفيهية والتثقيفية حيث تم في هذا الخصوص الوصول إلى أكثر من 120 ألف طالب وطالبة وأكثر من 10 آلاف من المعلمين والإداريين والعاملين في كافة المدارس المستهدفة.

وقد أكد عدد من مديري ومديرات المدارس على النجاح الكبير للحملة بالرغم من التحديات التي تواجه المجتمع المدرسي بشكل خاص خلال استمرار جائحة /كورونا/ عالميا، وأثنوا على ما بذله القائمون عليها والمشاركون فيها من جهود من أجل الوصول بالمجتمع المدرسي إلى بيئة صحية وآمنة للجميع وحتى تكون المدرسة خط الحماية الأول للطالب وأسرته.
