Continuous Growth of Qatari Economy

Doha: The Peninsula newspaper published Friday noted the continuous growth of the Qatari economy despite the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic and its global effects, stressing that the strong growth momentum in the Qatari economy will continue in coming months.

The Qatari English-language newspaper stated in its Friday editorial titled ‘Strong Economic Growth’, that the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) survey data from Qatar Financial Centre signaled an improvement in the non-energy economy in August 20221, adding that the data showed that the overall business conditions improved at the fastest rate since July 2020, in addition to registering the fastest rates of growth in the key metrics of output and new business.

It explained that this healthy growth of both current and future business bodes well for Qatars non-oil economy, with exports that now well exceed pre-pandemic levels and in an increasing number of foreign markets.

The peninsula newspaper stated that the PMI rose for the third month running to 58.2 in August, from 55.9 in July, adding that growth rates for both business activity and new business accelerated notably during January 2021.

The newspaper noted that January data also signaled lower average input prices, enabling firms to reduce their selling prices slightly.

The peninsula newspaper concluded its editorial by stressing that Qatars economy has once again demonstrated that it is strong enough to withstand any challenging situation, adding that the strong growth momentum in Qatars economy will continue in coming months.

الدوحة: نوهت صحيفة /البننسولا/ الصادرة اليوم، بالنمو المستمر للاقتصاد القطري رغم تداعيات جائحة فيروس/كورونا/ وتأثيراتها العالمية، مشددة على أن زخم النمو القوي في الاقتصاد القطري سيستمر في الأشهر المقبلة.

وذكرت الصحيفة الناطقة باللغة الإنجليزية في افتتاحيتها بعنوان /نمو اقتصادي قوي/، أن مؤشر مديري المشتريات من مركز قطر للمال، أشار إلى تحسن الاقتصاد غير المتعلق بالطاقة في شهر أغسطس الماضي، مضيفة أن البيانات أوضحت تحسن ظروف العمل العامة بأسرع معدل منذ يوليو 2020، بالإضافة إلى تسجيل أسرع معدلات نمو في المقاييس الرئيسية للإنتاج والأعمال الجديدة.

وأوضحت أن هذا النمو الصحي لكل من الأعمال الحالية والمستقبلية يبشر بالخير للاقتصاد القطري غير النفطي، حيث أن الصادرات تتجاوز الآن مستويات ما قبل الوباء وفي عدد متزايد من الأسواق الخارجية.

وأفادت بأن مؤشر مديري المشتريات ارتفع للشهر الثالث على التوالي إلى 58.2 في أغسطس من 55.9 في يوليو، مضيفة أنه كان هناك تسارع في معدلات النمو لكل من النشاط التجاري والأعمال الجديدة بشكل ملحوظ خلال شهر يناير 2021.

ولفتت إلى أن بيانات يناير أظهرت انخفاض متوسط أسعار المدخلات، مما مكن الشركات من خفض أسعار البيع بشكل طفيف.

واختتمت الصحيفة افتتاحيتها بالتأكيد على أن الاقتصاد القطري أظهر مرة أخرى أنه قوي بما يكفي لتحمل أي موقف صعب، مضيفة أن زخم النمو القوي في الاقتصاد القطري سيستمر في الأشهر المقبلة.
