General Tax Authority Extend Tax Return Submission till December 31

Doha: The General Tax Authority (GTA) announced the extension of the period for submitting the tax return for the fiscal year 2020 for companies and establishments owned by Qatari citizens and citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCC), which are exempt from income tax for a period of four months, noting that the new deadline for submission will be December 31, 2021 instead of August 31.

The Authority said, in a statement today, that it has always sought to enhance the principle of tax compliance with taxpayers, stressing the importance of the commitment of small and medium-sized companies and projects owned by Qatari citizens and residents of GCC countries, to submit tax returns to avoid financial penalties.

The GTA expressed that companies exclusively benefit from the tax system which enhance their efficiency and governance, noting that the step to extend the period for submitting the tax return comes in response to the requests received by taxpayers to adjust the conditions of their companies.

The General Tax Authority works closely with its partners from the competent government entities to monitor the economic situation in the country in light of the current challenges, and it is committed to providing guarantees available to taxpayers and investors in a way that contributes to proactively support the national economy without burdening taxpayers.

الدوحة: أعلنت الهيئة العامة للضرائب عن تمديد فتره تقديم الإقرار الضريبي للسنة المالية 2020 بالنسبة للشركات والمنشآت المملوكة لمواطنين قطريين، ومن دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، والمعفاة من الضريبة على الدخل لمدة أربعة أشهر، ليصبح آخر موعد للتقديم هو 31 ديسمبر 2021 بدلا من 31 أغسطس الجاري.

وقالت الهيئة، في بيان اليوم، إنها لطالما تسعى لتعزيز مبدأ الامتثال الضريبي لدى الكلفين، مؤكدة أهمية التزام الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة والمشاريع المنزلية المملوكة لمواطنين قطريين، ومقيمين في الدولة من دول مجلس التعاون، بضرورة تقديم الإقرارات الضريبية لتجنب التعرض للجزاءات المالية.

وأعربت عن حصرها على استفادة الشركات من النظام الضريبي لتعزيز كفاءتها وحوكمتها، مبرزة أن خطوة تمديد فترة تقديم الاقرار الضريبي تأتي استجابة من الهيئة العامة للضرائب للطلبات الواردة من قبل المكلفين بخصوص تمديد هذه الفترة ليتسنى لهم تعديل أوضاع شركاتهم.

جدير بالذكر أن الهيئة العامة للضرائب تعمل بشكل وثيق مع شركائها من الجهات الحكومية المختصة لمراقبة الوضع الاقتصادي بالدولة في ظل التحديات الراهنة، وهي ملتزمة بتوفير الضمانات المتاحة للمكلفين والمستثمرين بالشكل الذي يساهم في دعم الاقتصاد الوطني بشكل استباقي ولا يشكل حملا على المكلفين بكافة فئاتهم.
