Delta variant is widespread among children: Dr. Nasser Al Ansari

Doha: Dr. Nasser Al Ansari, microbes and infection control consultant at Hamad Medical Corporation, stressed that “Delta” variant, which is a strain of coronavirus is more prevalent among children than the normal Coronavirus, pointing out the importance of care and caution during the current school year, especially on the part of parents, when parents notice that children show signs of the disease, the school must be notified, and the student must be prevented  from going to school.

He pointed out during a specialized forum to talk about the latest developments of the Coronavirus in the events of the «Qatari Success» that the certificate of Covid-19 vaccination is valid for a whole year from the date of the second dose, indicating that 90% of the virus currently spread around the world is the Delta Strain.

He stressed the importance of taking care to get the vaccine, which contributes significantly to the prevention of the virus even the mutated strains, where studies indicate that it is able to prevent infection by more than 80% and even if infected, complications are simple, and may not show symptoms at all.

Dr. Ansari said: The Ministry of Public Health cooperates closely with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the issue of applying precautionary measures in schools with the aim of creating a safe environment for students, through the application of 50% integrated learning, taking care of social distances and wearing masks, checking temperature, and showing the application of “EHTERAZ” on the green status for parents entering school.

الدوحة: أكّد الدكتورُ ناصر الأنصاري استشاري الميكروبات ومُكافحة العدوى بمؤسّسة حمد الطبية أنَّ متحور «دلتا» السلالة المتحوّرة من فيروس كورونا يكثر انتشارُه بين الأطفال بشكلٍ أكبرَ من فيروس كورونا العادي، لافتًا إلى أهمّية الحرص والحذر خلال العام الدراسي الحالي، وخاصةً من جهة الآباء، فحين يلاحظ الآباء أنَّ الأبناء تظهر عليهم علامات المرض فلابد أنَّ يتم إخبار المدرسة بذلك، ومنع الطالب من الذهاب للمدرسة.

وأشار خلال مُلتقى مُتخصص للحديث عن آخر تطوّرات فيروس كورونا ضمن فعاليات مهرجان «نجاح قطري» إلى أنَّ شهادة التطعيم الخاصة بفيروس كورونا «كوفيد- 19»، صالحة لسنة كاملة من تاريخ الحصول على الجرعة الثانية، مُبينًا أنَّ 90% من الفيروس المُنتشر حول العالم حاليًا هو «دلتا» المتحوّر.

وأكّد أهمية الحرص على الحصول على اللقاح الذي يُساهم بشكل كبير في الوقاية من الفيروس حتى السلالات المتحوّرة، حيث تشير الدراسات إلى أنه قادرٌ على منع الإصابة بنسبة تفوق 80% وحتى في حال الإصابة، فإنّ المضاعفات تكون بسيطة، وقد لا تظهر أعراض أصلًا على المصاب.

وقال د. الأنصاري: وزارة الصحة تتعاون بشكل وثيق مع وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي في مسألة تطبيق الإجراءات الاحترازيّة في المدارس بهدف خلق بيئة آمنة للطلاب، وذلك من خلال تطبيق التعلّم المدمج بنسبة 50%، والحرص على المسافات الاجتماعية وارتداء الكِمامة، وفحص الحرارة، وإظهار تطبيق «احتراز» على الحالة الخضراء بالنسبة لأولياء الأمور الذين يدخلون المدرسة.
