Users of these Android devices will be denied Google services as of September 27

Google has warned users of Android 2.3.7, or older, that it will not allow them to log into Google accounts and services from September 27.

“As part of our ongoing efforts to keep our users safe, Google will no longer allow access to Android devices, which run Android 2.3.7 or older versions, as of September 27, 2021,” the company said in a statement, according to Russia Today.

“If you sign in to your device after September 27th, you may experience an error notice regarding your username or password when trying to use Google products and services such as Gmail, YouTube and Maps.”

To give you an idea of how affected the device is by this change, Android 2.3.7 was released nearly 10 years ago.

But with more than three billion active Android devices at the moment, this change is likely to affect a small number of users who may still be sticking to old technology.

The technology giant says the move is due to its “efforts to keep users safe.”

وأضافت: “إذا سجلت الدخول إلى جهازك بعد 27 سبتمبر، فقد تواجه إشعار خطأ في ما يتعلق باسم المستخدم أو كلمة المرور عند محاولة استخدام منتجات وخدمات غوغل مثل Gmail ويوتيوب والخرائط”.

ولإعطائك فكرة عن مدى تأثر الجهاز بهذا التغيير، تم إصدار أندرويد 2.3.7 منذ ما يقارب 10 سنوات.

ولكن نظرا لوجود أكثر من ثلاثة مليارات من أجهزة أندرويد النشطة في الوقت الحالي، فمن المحتمل أن يؤثر هذا التغيير على عدد كبير قليلا من المستخدمين الذين ربما لا يزالون متمسكين بالتكنولوجيا القديمة.
