MoI Announces Opening of Voters Registration to Elect Shura Council

Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced the opening of voters registration process to elect the Shura Council in its first session, in all electoral districts, starting from tomorrow, Sunday, and continuing until next Thursday.

The ministry said, in a statement issued today, that in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (6) of 2021, promulgating the Shura Council’s Electoral System law and Decree No. 37 of 2021, defining electoral districts and their respective regions,the registration for voters in all electoral districts will open from Sunday, 01/08/2021, and will continue until Thursday, 05/08/2021, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

In its statement, the ministry called on citizens to register in the voters’ lists, indicating the conditions that must be met by the voter, which is that his original nationality must be Qatari, and anyone who acquired Qatari nationality is excluded from the condition of original nationality, provided that his grandfather is Qatari and born in the State of Qatar, and that he is full eligible, not less than 18 years on 22/08/2021, and not have been convicted of a final verdict in a crime involving moral turpitude or dishonesty, unless he has been rehabilitated.

Among the conditions included in the statement, the citizen should initiate the registration application procedures himself through Metrash2 application, or by text message, or by personally attending any of the electoral headquarters, as the ministry specified the data required for registration, which is the personal card number and the mobile number.

The statement of the Ministry of Interior stated that the preliminary lists of voters will be announced on Sunday, 08/08/2021.

الدوحة: أعلنت وزارة الداخلية عن فتح باب قيد الناخبين لانتخاب مجلس الشورى في دورته الأولى، في جميع مقار الدوائر الانتخابية اعتبارا من يوم غد /الأحد/، ويستمر حتى يوم الخميس المقبل.

وقالت الوزارة، في بيان صدر عنها اليوم، إنه “وفقا لأحكام القانون رقم (6) لسنة 2021 م، بإصدار قانون نظام انتخاب مجلس الشورى والمرسوم رقم 37 لسنة 2021 م، بتحديد الدوائر الانتخابية ومناطق كل منها يفتح باب قيد الناخبين في جميع مقار الدوائر الانتخابية اعتبارا من يوم الأحد الموافق 01/ 08 / 2021 م، ويستمر حتى يوم الخميس الموافق 05 / 08 / 2021 م، وذلك من الساعة 4 عصرا وحتى الساعة 8 مساء”.

ودعت الوزارة، في بيانها، السادة المواطنين للقيد في جداول الناخبين، مبينة الشروط الواجب توافرها في الناخب والمتمثلة في “أن تكون جنسيته الأصلية قطرية، ويستثنى من شرط الجنسية الأصلية كل من اكتسب الجنسية القطرية وبشرط أن يكون جده قطريا ومن مواليد دولة قطر”، وأن يكون كامل الأهلية، وألا يقل عمره عن 18 سنة ميلادية بتاريخ 22 / 08 / 2021 م ، وألا يكون قد صدر ضده حكم نهائي في جريمة مخلة بالشرف أو الأمانة، ما لم يكن قد رد إليه اعتباره.

ومن الاشتراطات التي تضمنها البيان، أن يباشر المواطن إجراءات طلب القيد بنفسه عن طريق تطبيق /مطراش2/، أو عن طريق رسالة نصية، أو بالحضور شخصيا إلى أي من المقار الانتخابية، كما حددت الوزارة البيانات المطلوبة للقيد، وهي رقم البطاقة الشخصية ورقم الجوال.

وذكر بيان وزارة الداخلية أن الجداول الأولية للناخبين ستعلن يوم الأحد الموافق 08 / 08 / 2021 م.
