Milaha signs digital transformation deal with Oracle Cloud

DOHA: Qatar Navigation (Milaha), one of the leading maritime and logistics conglomerates in the region, has signed an agreement with the US-based tech giant Oracle Cloud applications to drive a major digital transformation across all its core business operations and its subsidiaries.

The initiative will help Milaha create new revenue streams by introducing innovative services and drive operational efficiency with automated processes.

The agreement was signed by Abdulrahman Al Mannai, President and Chief Executive Officer of Milaha and Arun Khehar, Senior Vice-President, Business Applications, ECEMEA, Oracle in Doha on Thursday.

The more than six decades old Doha-based company with over 100 vessels of different types and various sizes in involved in a wide-range of business activities which include marine transportation in gas, petroleum products, containers and bulk; offshore support services; port management and operations; logistics services; shipyard; trading agencies; real estate investments; and asset management.

Al Mannai said: “In line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and in a world of increasingly complex supply chains, constantly challenging the status quo is imperative to drive sustained growth and deliver on fast-evolving customer expectations. This is especially important for us at Milaha as our primary goal is offering synchronised solutions to our customers to help mobilise their businesses.”

Al Mannai added: “The end-to-end digital transformation powered by Oracle Cloud applications will help us achieve this objective by helping drive innovation and create new business opportunities without the need to invest in additional infrastructure.”

On his part, Khehar of Oracle Cloud, said: “Milaha is a key enabler for Qatar’s economic progress and this digital transformation initiative will equip Milaha with cutting edge cloud technology that will help the company continue and sustain its mission as the preferred maritime and logistics partner of choice in Qatar, the region, and internationally.”

Oracle Cloud offers complete SaaS application suites for ERP, HCM and CX, plus best-in-class database Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) from data centers throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Under this initiative, Milaha will implement Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); Enterprise Performance Management (EPM); Supply Chain Management (SCM) including IoT; Oracle Transport Management (OTM); Human Capital Management (HCM), and Customer Experience (CX) cloud applications. Besides helping drive business agility, Oracle cloud applications will also help Milaha optimise service levels and enable efficient logistics operations.

أطلقت «ملاحة»، وهي المجموعة الرائدة في مجال النقل البحري والخدمات اللوجستية، بالتعاون مع شركة «Oracle» الخميس الماضي، مبادرة تحول رقمي كبرى لتقديم خدمات مبتكرة في عمليات الإمداد والنقل البحري، وهي عبارة عن تطبيقات «أوراكل السحابية»، والتي ستكون الركيزة التي تعتمد عليها في تنفيذ خطتها الكبرى للتحول الرقمي على مستوى جميع العمليات التجارية الأساسية للشركة الأم والشركات التابعة لها.

ستساعد هذه الخطة الشركة على خلق موارد جديدة من الخدمات المبتكرة التي تتيحها أنظمة أوراكل، بالإضافة إلى تحسين كفاءة عملياتها، اعتمادًا على الأتمتة المتقدمة.

وأكد عبدالرحمن بن عيسى المناعي، الرئيس والمدير التنفيذي لشركة ملاحة خلال مؤتمر صحافي، على أهمية هذه الخطوة الجديدة للشركة، وفق رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، لافتاً إلى أن العالم يشهد تعقيداً متزايداً في سلاسل التوريد، ولهذا لا بد من تغيير أساليب العمل القائمة والنظم الحالية التي كانت معتمدة، والعمل على النمو المستدام، ومواكبة التطورات العالمية السريعة التي تهدف إلى تحقيق أعلى درجات رضا المستهلكين.

حلول

وبيّن المناعي أهمية هذه المبادرة بالنسبة لشركة ملاحة بشكل خاص، والتي تهدف بشكل أساسي إلى تقديم حلول مبتكرة للعملاء تواكب نمو أعمالهم، وفي مختلف المجالات، موضحاً أن التحول الرقمي المتكامل الذي تقدمه تطبيقات «أوراكل» سيمكن ملاحة من تجسيد شعارها على أرض الواقع بقوة أكبر، من خلال المساعدة على تعزيز الابتكار، وخلق فرص تجارية جديدة، دون الاضطرار إلى إضافة بنية تحتية جديدة.

تطبيقات

من جهته، أكد آرون كيهار، نائب الرئيس لتطبيقات الأعمال بمنطقة أوروبا وأوروبا الوسطى والشرق الأوسط وإفريقيا، في شركة «أوراكل» أن شركة ملاحة تعتبر إحدى الركائز الذي يعتمد عليها نمو الاقتصاد القطري، وستوفر مبادرة التحول الرقمي هذه لشركة ملاحة أحدث التقنيات السحابية وأكثرها تقدماً لمساعدتها على مواصلة تأدية دورها كشركة مفضلة، وخيار أول لعمليات النقل البحري واللوجستي في قطر والمنطقة والعالم.

تجدر الإشارة إلى أنه بموجب هذه المبادرة، ستعتمد شركة ملاحة على مجموعة من حلول شركة أوراكل، والتي تشمل التطبيقات السحابية التالية: تخطيط موارد المؤسسة، وإدارة أداء المؤسسة، وإدارة سلسلة التوريد مع تقنية إنترنت الأشياء، وإدارة المواصلات والنقل، وإدارة الموارد البشرية، وتجربة العملاء، وستعمل هذه التطبيقات على تحسين مستويات خدمات الشركة، ورفع كفاءة عملياتها اللوجستية.;
