Ministry of Health closes a private medical center and a specialized clinic

The Ministry of Public Health has closed down a private medical centre and a private specialized clinic and referred them to the Health Prosecution for violating the decision to suspend some non-emergency health services in private health facilities, as part of precautionary measures to combat the Covid-19 epidemic and to ensure the safety of patients and medical workers.
The Ministry detected the violations during its inspection visits to health facilities in the country. The Ministry recently closed down five private medical centres and referred them to the Health Prosecution for violating the decision.
At its weekly meeting on April 29, 2020, the Cabinet decided to extend suspension of non-emergency medical services in private health facilities, including dental clinics, dermatology and laser clinics, plastic surgery clinics and surgeries, with the exception of emergency cases.
It also decided to extend the suspension of services of diet and nutrition centres, physiotherapy clinics, complementary (alternative) medicine, home healthcare services, except for long-term nursing contracts, and health centres for people with special needs.
The Cabinet decided that the Minister of Public Health may permit any of these private health facilities to provide some of their medical services if possible through modern means of communication.
On March 28, 2020, the Ministry of Public Health issued a circular requiring all private health facilities in the country to suspend non-emergency services.

أعلنت وزارة الصحة العامة اليوم عن إغلاق مركز طبي خاص وعيادة تخصصية خاصة وأحالتهما إلى نيابة الصحة لمخالفتهما قرار إيقاف بعض الخدمات الصحية غير الطارئة في المنشآت الصحية الخاصة، وذلك ضمن الإجراءات والتدابير الاحترازية لمكافحة وباء (كوفيد-19) ولضمان سلامة المرضى والعاملين في القطاع الطبي.
وتم ضبط المخالفات خلال الزيارات التفتيشية التي تنفذها الوزارة على المنشآت الصحية في الدولة، وكانت الوزارة قد أعلنت مؤخرا عن إغلاق خمسة مراكز طبية خاصة أخرى وإحالتها إلى نيابة الصحة لمخالفتها القرار.
يذكر أن مجلس الوزراء قرر في اجتماعه في 29 أبريل الماضي استمرار إيقاف تقديم الخدمات الطبية في المنشآت الصحية الخاصة باستثناء الحالات الطارئة وذلك على النحو التالي.. عيادات الأسنان، وعيادات الجلدية والليزر، وعيادات جراحة التجميل، والعمليات الجراحية.
كما تضمن قرار مجلس الوزراء كذلك استمرار إيقاف تقديم الخدمات الطبية في المنشآت الصحية الخاصة التالية.. مراكز الحمية والتغذية، وعيادات العلاج الطبيعي، والطب التكميلي (البديل) بأنواعه المختلفة، والخدمات الصحية المنزلية ما عدا العقود طويلة الأمد الخاصة بالتمريض، والمراكز الصحية لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة.
وتضمن القرار أنه يجور لوزير الصحة العامة السماح لأي من هذه المنشآت الصحية الخاصة تقديم بعض خدماتها الطبية التي يمكن تقديمها عن طريق وسائل الاتصال الحديثة.
وكانت وزارة الصحة العامة قد أصدرت في 28 مارس الماضي قرارا يلزم المنشآت الصحية الخاصة في الدولة بإيقاف بعض الخدمات الصحية غير الطارئة.
