Qatar Calendar House holds event on rare solar eclipse

The Qatar Calendar House announced Saturday that it will organise an event to publicise the solar eclipse phenomenon and its various types in co-operation with the Qatar Centre for Space and Astronomy Science Sunday in the main hall of Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex at Dafna.
It said that the event comes ahead of the rare annular eclipse phenomenon that will be witnessed in the skies above Qatar. The event aims to educate the public about this phenomenon.
Qatari astronomer Sheikh Salman bin Jaber al -Thani is expected to deliver a lecture at the event.
The Qatar Calendar House reported that accurate astronomical calculations confirmed that the residents of Qatar will see and monitor the rare annular solar eclipse with the sunrise on Thursday, December 26. This phenomenon has not been witnessed in Qatar for more than a century, and will be seen again after more than a century.

أعلنت دار التقويم القطري امس السبت، عن تنظيم فعالية للتعريف بظاهرة الكسوف الشمسي وأنواعه المختلفة بالتعاون مع مركز قطر لعلوم الفضاء والفلك مساء اليوم الأحد، بالقاعة الرئيسية بمجمع الشيخ عبدالله الأنصاري بالدفنة.
وأوضحت، أن هذه الفعالية، تأتي استعدادًا لظاهرة الكسوف الحلقي النادر الذي ستشهده سماء دولة قطر، ولتوعية الجمهور بهذه الظاهرة وتوضيح المفهوم العلمي الصحيح لها.
ومن المرتقب أن يحاضر في هذه الفعالية الفلكي القطري الشيخ سلمان بن جابر آل ثاني.
وأفادت دار التقويم القطري، أن الحسابات الفلكية الدقيقة أكدت، أن سكان دولة قطر سيكونون على موعد مع رؤية ورصد كسوف الشمس الحلقي النادر مع شروق شمس يوم الخميس 26 ديسمبر الجاري، والذي لم تشهده سماء دولة قطر منذ أكثر من قرن، ولن يتكرر مرة أخرى في سماء دولة قطر إلا بعد أكثر من قرن من الزمان.
