MoPH: All community members are among the target groups to take the third dose of corona vaccine

Doha: Dr. Soha Al Bayat, head of vaccinations at the Ministry of Public Health, confirmed that all members of the community are among the target groups for taking the third dose of the Coronavirus vaccine (COVID-19), but priority is for older people with chronic diseases and front line workers in the fight against the virus.
Dr. Al Bayat said in an interview with the program “Fi Al-Duha” which is shown on Qatar TV that the announcement by the Ministry of Public Health to give enhanced doses of vaccines approved in The State of Qatar “Pfizer-BioNTech” and Moderna against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) for individuals at high risk of COVID-19 who received the second dose of the vaccine more than eight months ago is the beginning of a new phase of the National Vaccination Program for COVID-19.
Dr. Al Bayat added that the additional or enhanced dose has proven safe and effective and will not have side effects different from the first and second doses of the vaccine.
On August 24, the ministry agreed to give a third dose of covid-19 vaccines “Pfizer-BioNTech” and “Moderna” to people with weakened immunity to the virus two doses were found not enough to stimulate immunity to the virus.

الدوحة: أكدت الدكتورة سهى البيات رئيس قسم التطعيمات بوزارة الصحة العامة أن جميع أفراد المجتمع هم من الفئات المستهدفة لأخذ الجرعة الثالثة من اللقاح المضاد لفيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19)، ولكن الأولية لـ كبار السن وأصحاب الأمراض المزمنة والخطوط الأمامية في التصدي للفيروس.
وقالت الدكتورة البيات خلال مقابلة مع برنامج “في الضحى” الذي يعرض على شاشة تلفزيون قطر أن إعلان وزارة الصحة العامة إعطاء الجرعات المعززة من اللقاحات المعتمدة بدولة قطر “فايزر-بيونتيك” وموديرنا ضد فيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19) للأفراد الأكثر عرضة لمخاطر فيروس كورونا “كوفيد-19” الذين تلقوا الجرعة الثانية من اللقاح قبل أكثر من ثمانية أشهر يعتبر بداية مرحلة جديدة من برنامج الوطني للتطعيم لكوفيد -19 .
وأضافت الدكتور البيات أن الجرعة الإضافية أو المعززة أثبتت أمنها وفعاليتها ولن يكون لها آثار جانبية مختلفة عن الجرعة الأولى والثانية من اللقاح.
وكانت الوزارة قد وافقت في 24 أغسطس الماضي على إعطاء جرعة ثالثة من لقاحَي التطعيم ضدّ فيروس كورونا «كوفيد-19» «فايزر-بيونتيك» و»مودرنا» للأشخاص الذين يعانون من ضعف في المناعة حيث تبين أن جرعتين لا تكفي لتحفيز المناعة ضد الفيروس.
