Completion of Roads and Infrastructure Works for Worker Accommodation Complex in West Umm Slal
اكتمال أعمال الطرق والبنية التحتية لمجمعات سكن العمال غرب منطقة أم صلال
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announced the completion of the roads and infrastructure works for Integrated Workers Complex (IWAC) in West Umm Slal (Bu Garn), and opening the roads to traffic. The main purpose of the project is to serve the needs of the workers accommodation and the logistic city in the area and to connect them with the existing road network. These facilities are expected to serve 31,000 workers.
Eng. Hamad Al-Badr. Project Engineer at Ashghal’s Roads Projects Department, said: “As part of Ashghal’s efforts to serve the workers accommodation facilities, and to ensure a safe, healthy living environment in their communities, a road network was constructed at the West of Umm Slal, around the workers accommodation, to facilitate traffic access to these facilities and to provide it with drainage network.”
Eng. Al-Badr also added: “Ashghal accelerated the work progress, which helped to complete the works on time, in conjunction with the allocation of one of the accommodation facilities to serve as a temporary quarantine facility, and is expected to accommodate around 4000 workers during quarantine. Therefore, Ashghal expedited the commissioning of the drainage network in order to discharge the sewage flows from this area to the existing plant in Doha North, which is about 10 km far from the project area, until the foul sewer pump station is finally constructed and commissioned under this project, with a daily capacity of 6500 m3/day. Once completed the station will cater for the current and future needs of the particular area. Construction works for the station are scheduled for completion in the 3rd quarter of 2020.”
It is worth noting that the project’s completed works involve the construction of 11 km of roads, 12-km long sewerage network, a 5.9-km long electricity network, surface water drainage network (4.3 km in length), and a TSE network (4 km). The scope of works also involved providing street lighting, with the installation of 324 lighting poles, road markings, road signage, among other road elements that will improve traffic safety on the recently developed roads. In addition, two bus parking areas will be upgraded for labor transportation, at a total capacity of 550 buses.
أعلنت هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” عن اكتمال أعمال الطرق والبنية التحتية لمجمعات سكن العمال المتكاملة بمنطقة غرب أم صلال (بوقرن) وافتتاح الطرق أمام الحركة المرورية وذلك لتلبية احتياجات مجمعات سكن العمال والمناطق اللوجستية بالمنطقة وربطها بشبكة الطرق القائمة، حيث من المقرر أن تخدم هذه المرافق 31 ألف عامل.
وقد أشار المهندس حمد البدر، مهندس المشروع بإدارة مشروعات الطرق في “أشغال”، إلى أنه في إطار الجهود التي تبذلها الهيئة لتحسين مرافق خدمات العمال والسعي إلى راحتهم وضمان البيئة الصحية والمعيشية الآمنة في المناطق السكنية المخصصة لهم، تم تطوير شبكة من الطرق غرب منطقة أم صلال تحيط بالسكن المخصص للعمال وتسهّل الوصول إليه بالإضافة لتوفير خدمات الصرف الصحي لخدمة المجمعات.
كما صرح المهندس حمد البدر بأن “أشغال” عملت على تسريع وتيرة الأعمال على المشروع، ليتم الانتهاء منها في الوقت المحدد تزامناً مع تخصيص أحد مجمعات سكن العمال بالمنطقة لأغراض الحجر الصحي المؤقت، ومن المتوقع أن تستوعب هذه المرافق حوالي 4000 عامل أثناء الحجر، وعليه، تم استعجال تشغيل شبكة الصرف الصحي لضخ تدفقات الصرف من المنطقة لمحطة قائمة بشمال مدينة الدوحة، وتبعد حوالي 10 كلم عن منطقة المشروع، وذلك لحين انتهاء بناء وتشغيل محطة ضخ مياه الصرف الصحي ضمن أعمال المشروع بسعة 6500 متر مكعب في اليوم للاستجابة لاحتياجات المنطقة المستقبلية، ومن المقرر الانتهاء من أعمال تنفيذ هذه المحطة في الربع الثالث من عام 2020.
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن الأعمال المنجزة ضمن المشروع تتضمن إنشاء 11 كيلومتر من الطرق إلى جانب أعمال شبكة الصرف الصحي بطول 12 كيلومتر تقريبا وشبكة الكهرباء بطول 5.9 كيلومتر وشبكة تصريف المياه السطحية ومياه الأمطار بطول 4.3 كيلومتر وشبكة للمياه المعالجة بطول 4 كيلومتر، كما تم ضمن نطاق الأعمال تزويد الطريق بأنظمة الإنارة وتركيب 324 عمود وعلاوة على القيام بأعمال العلامات الأرضية واللوحات الارشادية وغيرها من عناصر تضمن رفع السلامة المرورية على الطرق المطورة، وإلى جانب تهيئة موقفين للحافلات المخصصة لنقل العمال وبسعة إجمالية قدرها 550 حافلة.
