‘Atlas of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022’ Book Inaugurated

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) hosted on Sunday evening the inauguration of the Atlas of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 by HE Chairman of the book’s editorial board Sheikh Dr. Thani bin Ali Al-Thani.

HE Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library (QNL) Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kawari, a number of ambassadors of the countries participating in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and a number of intellectuals and the press attended the ceremony.

In his speech during the inauguration ceremony, HE Minister of State and QNL President Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari said that this atlas is worth the celebration and must have a place in every home, every library, and with every person, because it not only is informative, but it covers all the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 participant countries.

His Excellency stressed the necessity and importance of documenting and recording every single detail, praising the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), due to its awareness of the significance of the moment, pointing out that whether by voice, image or writing, documentation passes down a legacy and record for future generations and their pride.

HE the Minister of State and QNL President indicated that the library is working on a program to document the history of Qatar and record the testimonies of the men and women who contributed to writing this bright history that every Qatari is proud of.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE Chairman of the book’s editorial board Sheikh Dr. Thani bin Ali Al-Thani said that the atlas contains geographic and general information about the countries participating in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, in addition to information about their national teams and their participation in previous tournaments, as well as about the World Cup, noting that this information is important at this moment when the country is undergoing its preparations to host this global event.

His Excellency stated that the book included multiple topics, including the most prominent urban and cultural landmarks in the State of Qatar, natural reserves, terrain, geography, facilities and numerous projects, in addition to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums.

In the conclusion of the inauguration ceremony, the ambassadors of the countries participating in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 were honored.

الدوحة: احتضنت المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/ مساء الأمس، حفل تدشين كتاب /أطلس كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022/ لسعادة الشيخ الدكتور ثاني بن علي آل ثاني رئيس هيئة تحرير الكتاب.

وحضر الحفل سعادة الدكتور حمد بن عبدالعزيز الكواري وزير الدولة ورئيس مكتبة قطر الوطنية، وعدد من سفراء الدول المشاركة في بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، وعدد من المثقفين والإعلاميين.

وقال سعادة الدكتور حمد بن عبدالعزيز الكواري وزير الدولة ورئيس مكتبة قطر الوطنية، في كلمة له خلال حفل التدشين “يستحق هذا الكتاب أن نحتفي به وأن يكون له مكانة في كل بيت وكل مكتبة وعند كل شخص، لأنه لا يحوي معلومات فحسب، بل يكتنز معلومات عن كل الدول التي تشارك هذا العام في بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022”.

وأكد سعادته على ضرورة وأهمية التوثيق وتسجيل كل صغيرة وكبيرة، مشيدا باللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، نظرا لوعيها بأهمية هذا الأمر، لافتا إلى أن التوثيق بالصوت والصورة والكتابة، هو إرث وسجل للأجيال القادمة وفخر لها.

وأشار سعادة وزير الدولة ورئيس مكتبة قطر الوطنية إلى أن المكتبة لديها برنامج تعمل عليه من أجل توثيق تاريخ قطر، وقد بدأت في تسجيل أقوال رجال ونساء قطر الذين ساهموا في كتابة هذا التاريخ الناصع الذي يفتخر به كل قطري.

من جهته، أوضح سعادة الشيخ الدكتور ثاني بن علي آل ثاني رئيس هيئة تحرير الكتاب في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/ أن الكتاب يتضمن معلومات جغرافية وعامة عن الدول المشاركة في بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، إضافة إلى معلومات عن منتخباتها ومشاركاتها السابقة في دورات كأس العالم، مشيرا إلى أن هذه المعلومات تعتبر هامة في هذه المرحلة في إطار التحضيرات الجارية في الدولة لاستضافة هذا الحدث العالمي.

وذكر سعادته أن الكتاب تضمن مواضيع متعددة بما في ذلك أبرز المعالم في دولة قطر العمرانية والثقافية والمحميات الطبيعية والتضاريس والجغرافيا والمنشآت والمشاريع العديدة، بالإضافة إلى الملاعب.

وقد شهد حفل التدشين في ختامه تكريم سفراء الدول المشاركة في بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022.
