MME approves demolition of 29 buildings

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) issued 29 decisions for the demolition and maintenance of buildings in the last few months of 2018. Of these, 25 decisions were for demolition and four for maintenance, the MME said in a statement.

A monthly break-up shows 12 decisions were issued in October, nine in November and eight in December. The decisions were issued by the Building Demolition and Maintenance Committee at the ministry. The committee also received 22 applications for demolition from municipalities during this period.

The committee has received 610 applications for demolition and 98 for maintenance till date, with 541 decisions being issued until now.

It was established in accordance with Article 4 of Law No 29 of 2006 regarding the control of buildings, and pursuant to Ministerial Decision No 88 of 2006, amended by Ministerial Decision No 289 of 2017.

أصدرت لجنة صيانة وهدم المباني بوزارة البلدية والبيئة، مؤخراً، إجمالي 29 قراراً بهدم وصيانة المباني القديمة. وتلقت اللجنة منذ تشكيلها 610 طلبات هدم و98 طلب صيانة من البلديات، كما تضم في عضويتها عدد من مديري البلديات والإدارات بالوزارة، «مدير بلدية الدوحة – مدير بلدية الريان – مدير إدارة الشؤون القانونية – مدير إدارة التخطيط العمراني- مدير إدارة الشؤون الفنية ببلدية الدوحة»، وممثل عن الإدارة العامة للدفاع المدني بوزارة الداخلية.;
