QU-CENG Launches Engineering Week 2021

Doha: Qatar University College of Engineering (QU-CENG) launched Engineering with the participation of a number of preparatory schools in the country, as part of QU’s activities to attract students to engineering majors.

This week aimed at orienting school students and the wider community on the importance of science and engineering in Qatar’s growth and development.

The annual four days event is a forum to provide school students with an insight into CENG’s undergraduate programs and with the opportunity to visit the booths that showcase information about CENG’s undergraduate programs and to live engineering experiences through competitions, quizzes and technical demonstrations.

Commenting on the event, CENG Dean Dr. Khalid Kamal Naji highlighted the well cemented relations between the College of Engineering and its partners from industry, saying, “This is represented in our joint programs and underlines our commitment to prepare highly qualified engineers who will be able to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030 and to contribute to a knowledge-based economy. I hope that today’s event will help students make a decision on the majors they would like to join at the university.”

“In addition to the other school competitions that CENG is running, the Engineering Week comes as a part of CENG’s outreach programs with secondary and preparatory schools to get them involved with CENG. The Engineering Week aims to simplify the engineering principles to students in order to motivate them to join CENG and be a part of Qatar’s future. At the Engineering Week, and through quizzes and competitions, students will get clear ideas about engineering and its importance in life,” he added.

الدوحة: أطلقت جامعة قطر الأسبوع الهندسي 2021، بمشاركة عدد من المدارس الإعدادية في الدولة، وذلك في إطار أنشطة الجامعة لاستقطاب الطلبة للتخصصات الهندسية.

ويهدف الأسبوع الهندسي، الذي تشرف عليه كلية الهندسة، إلى تبسيط العلوم الهندسية للطلبة وتمكينهم من التواصل مع أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية في جميع أقسام الكلية لمعرفة آليات التسجيل فيها.

وتشتمل فعاليات الأسبوع على معرض تشارك فيه أقسام كلية الهندسة المختلفة، وهي قسم الهندسة الكيميائية، وقسم علوم وهندسة الحاسب، وقسم الهندسة الكهربائية، وقسم الهندسة الميكانيكية والصناعية، وقسم الهندسة المدنية والمعمارية، وقسم العمارة والتخطيط العمراني.

وقال الدكتور خالد كمال ناجي عميد كلية الهندسة إن الأسبوع الهندسي وغيره من الفعاليات المشابهة في الجامعة تسعى إلى تشجيع الطلاب والطالبات على الالتحاق بجامعة قطر، وتحفيزهم لبذل المزيد من الجهد والاهتمام بمختلف التقنيات والمهارات التي تحرص الكلية والجامعة على إكسابها للطلبة.

ودعا الدكتور ناجي جميع طلبة المدارس الإعدادية في الدولة للاستفادة من الفعاليات المتوفرة والتواصل مع أقسام الكلية للاطلاع على ما تمنحه من برامج وتخصصات.. متمنيا أن يكون لهذه الفعالية أثر في قرار الطلبة بما يخص التخصصات التي يرغبون في الالتحاق بها، آخذين بالاعتبار أهمية الهندسة لتحقيق رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.
