Joint Peninsula Shield drills begin with Qatari participation

Dammam: The joint Dir Al Jazeera (Peninsula Shield) exercise (10) kicked off here, with the participation of Qatari forces along with GCC countries forces represented by land, sea and air forces.
The two-weeks exercise aims to enhance joint cooperation and exchange of expertise among the GCC forces to raise the level of training for all the joint armed forces.
It is also a great advanced exercise because of its great role in benefiting from the continuous accumulation of expertise and enhancing military and security readiness in different circumstances, in order to maintain security and stability in the Gulf region and the world.
The exercise includes the training of command centers, where commanders are trained to manage military operations and use / simulators to deal with the virtual reality of military operations and field training with live ammunition.
انطلقت فعاليات تمرين درع الجزيرة المشترك 10، بمشاركة قوات قطرية بالإضافة إلى قوات دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي ممثلة بالقوات البرية والبحرية والجوية، ويستمر التمرين لمدة أسبوعين.
ويهدف التمرين إلى تعزيز التعاون المشترك، وتبادل الخبرات بين قوات دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، لرفع المستوى التدريبي لجميع القوات المسلحة المشتركة، كما يعد من التمارين المتطورة الضخمة لما لها من دورٍ كبير في الاستفادة من تراكم الخبرات بصورة مستمرة، وتعزيز الجاهزية العسكرية والأمنية في مختلف الظروف، وذلك لحفظ الأمن والاستقرار في منطقة الخليج العربي والعالم.
ويتضمن التمرين تدريب مراكز القيادة، حيث يتم من خلاله تدريب القادة على إدارة العمليات الحربية واستخدام “المشبهات” للتعامل فيه مع الواقع الافتراضي للعمليات العسكرية، والتدريب الميداني بالذخيرة الحية.
