المشاريع والإرث: مونديال 2022 فرصة اقتصادية ضخمة لقطر وللشركاء التجاريين الدوليين
Doha: The 2022 FIFA World Cup in its entirety is expected to create over QR30.64bn ($10bn) in investment opportunities for US companies. Over the past year alone, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) has entered commercial agreements worth over QR1.82bn ($500m) with US businesses.
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar represents an ‘enormous’ economic opportunity not only for Qatar but also for its international trading partners, said a senior official of SC.
He was speaking at a panel discussion at the Qatar-US Economic Forum, which was organised in Miami by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce in cooperation with Qatar Chamber, US Chamber of Commerce, Qatari Businessmen Association and US Qatar Business Council. The Forum took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami.
SCs Commercial Assurance Manager, Mohammed Qassem Al Emadi spoke on a panel discussing the international business opportunities presented by the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“The Qatar World Cup not only represents an enormous economic opportunity for Qatar, but also for Qatar’s international trading partners. We are working with businesses from all over the world to prepare for the tournament,”he said.
“For example, many of the contracts to build our stadiums sit with international companies, which form Joint Venture partnerships with local companies to build local capacity and create a sustainable economic legacy.
Many of our leading commercial partners are from the US and there are a wealth of opportunities remaining for US businesses to seize,” Al Emadi added.
The Forum sought to inform US business leaders of the myriad commercial opportunities on offer in Qatar’s growing, resilient economy. It also aimed to build on an already strong economic relationship between the two countries.
Al Emadi, spoke on a panel alongside Abdulrahman Al Khayareen, CEO of WIDAM Food Company, Fahad Al Kuwari, of the Ministry of Energy & Industry, and Mohammed Al Malki, Chief Planning & Development Officer at Manateq
The Forum is the first part of a month-long US roadshow being led by Qatar’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce. It aims to highlight Qatar’s investment in the US and the strong and deep-rooted relationship between the two countries.
The roadshow will visit four cities across the US, starting in Miami, Florida, then Washington DC, Charleston, South Carolina and Raleigh, North Carolina.

جاء ذلك خلال مشاركتها في المنتدى الاقتصادي القطري – الأمريكي ، الذي نظمته وزارة الاقتصاد والتجارة، بالتعاون مع غرفة قطر، وغرفة التجارة الأمريكية، ورابطة رجال الأعمال القطريين، ومجلس الأعمال القطري الأمريكي، في مدينة ميامي بولاية فلوريدا، وذلك ضمن إطار أعمال جولة الحراك الاقتصادي لدولة قطر بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.
ومثل اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث في المنتدى ، المهندس محمد قاسم العمادي مدير الأمن التجاري باللجنة، حيث تحدث، في الجلسة النقاشية التي أقيمت خلال المنتدى عن الفرص التجارية الدولية التي تتيحها بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم قطر 2022.
وقال المهندس محمد قاسم العمادي : “إن بطولة كأس العالم في قطر لا تمثل فرصة اقتصادية ضخمة لقطر فحسب، بل للشركاء التجاريين الدوليين أيضا، حيث تم إبرام الكثير من عقود إنشاء الاستادات مع شركات دولية للتعاون مع الشركات المحلية لتعزيز القدرات المحلية وترك إرث اقتصادي مستدام، من بينهم الكثير من شركائنا في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية”، لافتا إلى أن هناك العديد من الفرص الاستثمارية المتاحة للشركات التجارية الأمريكية في هذا المجال.
يذكر أن المنتدى الاقتصادي القطري – الأمريكي يهدف إلى تعريف كبار رجال الأعمال الأمريكيين بالفرص الاستثمارية المتعددة في قطر، كما يسعى المنتدى إلى تعزيز العلاقة الاقتصادية المتينة بين البلدين.
كما يعتبر المنتدى المحطة الأولى في إطار حملة ترويجية أمريكية تستمر قرابة الشهر وتهدف لتسليط الضوء على الاستثمارات القطرية في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، بالإضافة إلى تعزيز العلاقة القوية المتأصلة بين البلدين، وستستضيف الحملة أربع مدن أمريكية، بداية من ميامي ثم واشنطن، وساوث كارولينا ونورث كارولينا، وستشارك اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث في كل منها.
