Agreement to promote Qatar as a tourism destination in Germany

DOHA: Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and DER Touristik Deutschland have joined hands to further boost awareness of Qatar as a tourism destination and attract more visitors to the most open country in the region.

The deal comes following a 22 percent rise in German visitors to Qatar in 2017 compared to the previous year. As part of the partnership, DER Touristik will considerably expand the portfolio of its tour operator brands Dertour and Meier’s Weltreisen Qatar offers for the 2018/19 winter season. The existing day trip offer is being complemented by multi-day tours and the accommodation options on offer will increase to include a total of 14 hotels.

This partnership comes to complement our various existing promotional activities aimed at attracting more German visitors to Qatar.”

Qatar’s tourism infrastructure is expected to receive a major boost in 2019 when the first phase of Doha’s new metro system comes online and the much-anticipated National Museum of Qatar opens its doors to the public.

Matthias Rotter, Managing Director at DER Touristik Deutschland, added: “Qatar is an exciting emerging destination that can be comfortably and easily accessed from many hubs across Germany. Its importance will increase significantly in the coming years and the country’s government is matching this expected growth with a concerted effort to make the visitor’s experience a smooth and seamless one.”

The award-winning national carrier Qatar Airways operates 35 weekly flights connecting Doha to the German cities of Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. Thanks to recent visa facilitation measures, Qatar has waived visa-upon-arrival requirements for German citizens granting them free access to the country and allowing them to spend up to 90 days in Qatar, during either a single trip or on multiple trips.

Qatar is a six-hour flight from Germany, making it an attractive stopover destination for travellers heading farther East, while also providing numerous options for extended weekend stays.

أبرمت الهيئة العامة للسياحة، اتفاقاً مع شركة «دير توريستيك دويتشلاند» السياحية الألمانية، وذلك للترويج لعروض قطر السياحية، وتعزيز مكانة قطر بوصفها وجهة سياحية مميّزة، وجذب المزيد من الزوار الألمان إلى أكثر بلدان المنطقة انفتاحاً على العالم.

يأتي هذا الاتفاق بعد ارتفاع عدد الزوار الألمان إلى قطر في عام 2017 بنسبة 22 % مقارنة بعام 2016. وبموجب الاتفاق، سوف تقوم شركة «دير توريستيك» بالتوسع في عمليات علامتها التجارية، ديرتور ومايرز فيلتريزين، وتعزيز عروضها الترويجية للراغبين في السفر إلى قطر خلال الموسم الشتوي 2018-2019. وسوف يتم تعزيز العرض الحالي للرحلة اليومية برحلات سياحية تمتد أياماً، كما ستزيد خيارات الإقامة لتشمل 14 فندقاً.

شراكة

وقد صرح السيد راشد القريصي -رئيس قطاع التسويق والترويج في الهيئة العامة للسياحة- قائلاً: «لا شك أننا سعداء بالتعاون مع شريك سياحي في قوة شركة دير توريستيك الألمانية، التي تعرف تماماً مدى الإمكانيات والعروض التي تزخر بها قطر كوجهة سياحية، كما أننا حريصون على التعريف بتراثنا، وتقديم السياحة القطرية لأحد أكبر الأسواق المصدرة للزوار في أوروبا. تأتي هذه الشراكة استكمالاً لأنشطتنا الترويجية الحالية والمتنوعة، التي تستهدف اجتذاب المزيد من الزوار الألمان إلى قطر».

ومن المرتقب أن تحظى أعمال ومشاريع البنية التحتية السياحية في قطر بدفعة قوية في عام 2019، وذلك حينما يتم تشغيل المرحلة الأولى من شبكة مترو الدوحة، ويَفتتح متحف قطر الوطني -الذي طال انتظاره- أبوابه للجمهور.

وجهة

من جهته، قال السيد ماتياس روتر، المدير العام لشركة دير توريستيك دويتشلاند: «قطر تُعتبر وجهة سياحية واعدة يمكن الوصول إليها بسهولة ويسر عبر العديد من المدن الألمانية، ولا بد أن أهميتها سوف تزداد بشكل ملحوظ خلال السنوات المقبلة، لا سيما في ظل سعي الحكومة القطرية إلى مواكبة النمو المتوقع في صناعة السياحة بالمزيد من الجهود المتضافرة، لجعل تجربة الزوار تجربة سلسة وممتعة».

وتُسيّر الخطوط الجوية القطرية -الناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر، الحائزة على العديد من الجوائز العالمية المرموقة- 35 رحلة أسبوعية؛ تربط من خلالها الدوحة بكلٍ من: برلين، وفرانكفورت، وميونيخ، وهي المدن الألمانية الرئيسية.

وبفضل التسهيلات الأخيرة في سياسات وإجراءات التأشيرات، قامت دولة قطر بإعفاء المواطنين الألمان من متطلبات الحصول على التأشيرة لدى الوصول، مما يمنحهم حرية الدخول إلى البلاد، ويسمح لهم بقضاء مدة قد تصل إلى 90 يوماً في قطر، سواء في رحلة واحدة أو عبر عدة رحلات.

وتستغرق رحلة الطيران من ألمانيا إلى قطر 6 ساعات، ما يجعلها محطة توقف جذابة للمسافرين الراغبين في متابعة رحلاتهم المتجهة شرقاً، فيما يوفر لهم العديد من الخيارات لقضاء عطلات نهاية الأسبوع.;
