Oman’s Minister praises Qatar’s educational standards

DOHA: Minister of Education of the Sultanate of Oman, Dr Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah (pictured), described Qatar’s educational system as a pioneer and rich experience and stressed that Qatar’s experience in this field is in line with international standards.

The Minister, who is visiting Doha, hailed Qatar’s clear efforts in the education sector and support for it at the global level, while praising the initiatives of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser.

She also appreciated the distinguished role played by the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, higher education institutions and research sectors in the social, cultural and research fields and in the so-called ‘Stem’ system in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, which indicates Qatar’s vision for the future and that its educational system is keeping pace with the latest international developments in the field.

Dr Al Shaibaniyah explained that her visit to Qatar comes as an activation of the executive program of the terms of the educational and cultural cooperation agreement between the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman, pointing out that during the past five years many aspects of this program have been activated in terms of exchange visits of delegations in various areas, and their training programs, and the benefit of education and cooperation in the field of educational evaluation and curriculum development.

She pointed to a visit by an Omani delegation to Qatar, during which they learned about the Qatari experience in the series of science and mathematics, adding that a Qatari delegation visited the Sultanate, where they were briefed on e-correction and evaluation experience under the said program.

The two countries, she said, will further activate aspects of educational cooperation and the exchange of experiences between them, stressing full harmony between those in charge in both countries in these areas. Cooperation between us is ongoing and we will activate it more during the next phase.

Dr Al Shaibaniyah said Qatar is a sister country and our relations will continue at the same pace of cooperation and rapprochement. It is very normal between the two brotherly countries, she said.

وصفت سعادة الدكتورة مديحة بنت أحمد الشيبانية وزيرة التربية والتعليم بسلطنة عُمان الشقيقة، المنظومة التعليمية في دولة قطر بأنها رائدة وثرية، وأكدت أن تجربة قطر في هذا المجال تنسجم مع المعايير الدولية، ويستفاد منها على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي.

ونوهت سعادة الوزيرة، التي تزور الدوحة حالياً، في تصريح خاص لوكالة الأنباء القطرية «قنا»، بالجهود القطرية الواضحة في قطاع التعليم ودعمه على المستوى العالمي، مثمنة في هذا السياق، مبادرات حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى وصاحبة السمو الشيخة موزا بنت ناصر.

كما ثمنت الدور المميز الذي تضطلع به مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع ومؤسسات التعليم العالي وقطاعات البحوث في المجالات الاجتماعية والثقافية والبحثية، وفي ما يعرف بنظام «Stem» في تخصصات العلوم والرياضيات والهندسة والتكنولوجيا، ما يدل على استشراف قطر للمستقبل ومواكبة نظامها التعليمي لأحدث المستجدات على الساحة الدولية.

وأوضحت سعادة الدكتورة الشيبانية أن زيارتها لدولة قطر تأتي تفعيلاً للبرنامج التنفيذي لبنود اتفاقية التعاون التربوي والثقافي بين دولة قطر وسلطنة عُمان، لافتة إلى أنه تم خلال السنوات الخمس الماضية تفعيل جوانب عديدة من هذا البرنامج من حيث تبادل زيارات الوفود في مجالات متعددة، منها ما يعنى بالمعلمين وبرامج تدريبهم، وتمهين التعليم والتعاون في مجال التقويم التربوي وتطوير المناهج، مشيرة في هذا الخصوص إلى زيارة وفد من السلطنة لقطر اطلع خلالها على تجربة الدولة في سلاسل العلوم والرياضيات، بينما زار وفد قطري السلطنة، حيث اطلع على تجربة التصحيح الإلكتروني والتقويم في إطار البرنامج المذكور.

ونوهت بأن المطلوب من البلدين الشقيقين مستقبلاً هو المزيد من التفعيل لجوانب التعاون التربوي والتعليمي وتبادل الخبرات بينهما، مؤكدة على الانسجام التام بين المختصين في البلدين في هذه المجالات، وأضافت قائلة: «التعاون قائم بيننا وسنقوم بتفعيله أكثر خلال المرحلة المقبلة».

واختتمت سعادة الدكتورة الشيبانية تصريحها بقولها: «قطر دولة شقيقة وستستمر العلاقات بيننا بنفس الوتيرة من التعاون والتقارب، وهذا أمر طبيعي جداً بين البلدين الشقيقين».;
