A cleaner’s mistake damages 2,000 doses of Moderna vaccine

Washington: Nearly 2,000 doses of the Corona vaccine produced by The American Company “Moderna” were damaged at a Boston hospital, because a cleaner accidentally stopped the refrigerator that kept them. ABC television reported that the incident occurred in Massachusetts on January 19, and Kyle Tutu, a representative of the hospital, told her that “the refrigerator was in a safe place and equipped with an alarm system. It was found that the refrigerator was not connected to electricity, because a contract staff member accidentally removed the electrical connection during the cleaning.”
An investigation into the incident was reportedly under way, and the reasons for the failure of the refrigerator alarm were also being investigated. The television channel reported that the Moderna vaccine could be stored between 2 and 8°C for 30 days.

واشنطن: تعرض ما يقرب من ألفي جرعة من لقاح كورونا الذي تنتجه شركة «موديرنا» الأمريكية للتلف في مستشفى بوسطن، وذلك لأن عامل نظافة أوقف عن طريق الخطأ عمل الثلاجة التي حفظت بها. وذكرت قناة تلفزيون «إي بي سي» أن الحادث حصل بولاية ماساتشوستس يوم 19 يناير، وأبلغها كايل توتو، مممثل المستشفى، بأن «الثلاجة كانت في مكان آمن ومجهزة بنظام إنذار. وتبين أن الثلاجة لم تكن موصولة بالكهرباء، وذلك لأن موظفًا متعاقدًا نزع عن طريق الخطأ الوصلة الكهربائية أثناء التنظيف».
وأفيد بأن تحقيقًا يجري حاليًا في الحادث، ويجري أيضًا التحري عن أسباب عدم عمل جهاز الإنذار المثبت في الثلاجة. وأفادت القناة التلفزيونية بأن لقاح موديرنا يمكن حفظه بين 2 إلى 8 درجات مئوية لمدة 30 يومًا.
