Qur’anic Botanic Garden marks Ramadan with exciting activities
حديقة القرآن النباتية تقدم مسابقات مثيرة طوال شهر رمضان

Qur’anic Botanic Garden (QBG) has said it is offering the community the opportunity to participate in a wide range of exciting and educational activities during the holy month of Ramadan.
A member of Qatar Foundation, QBG houses a botanical garden that exhibits all the plant species mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, and in the Hadith and Sunnah (sayings and traditions of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him).One of the highlights for keen botanists, agriculturalists and gardeners throughout the month will be the chance to join in daily competitions and win prizes by answering questions on verses in the Holy Qur’an that relate to environmental and botanical terminology — posed each day via QBG’s social media pages.
In addition, those eager to learn more about QBG and botanical matters in general will be able to tune in to informative live Instagram sessions held throughout Ramadan that will highlight different topics of interest relating to the garden and showcase its extensive library of botanical books and publications, a press statement notes.
Among a range of botanically themed activities planned to mark Ramadan is a programme of seminars conducted via webinar.
One will feature Mohamed al-Khater, a specialist in medicinal plants, alongside Ahmed ElGharib, assistant researcher at QBG, and explore medicinal plants and the important role they play in human health.
Another will focus on food security during Covid-19, a timely presentation outlining the response of the agricultural sector to the pandemic with Nasser al-Khalaf, owner of one of Qatar’s biggest agricultural farms, alongside Mohamed Hassona, QBG’s horticulturist, plus representatives from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
Fatima Khulaifi, project director at QBG, said: ““We are delighted to announce our programme of botanically themed activities for the holy month of Ramadan.
Thanks to modern technology and the enthusiasm of our team and guest speakers, we are able to share exciting daily competitions and a range of educational, thought-provoking seminars and online activities.
We extend a warm invitation to everyone to join us in contemplating the wonder of God’s natural creation.”

تحفز المجتمع على إدراك نعمة النباتات طوال شهر رمضان
تقدم حديقة القرآن النباتية للمجتمع فرصة المشاركة في مجموعة واسعة من الندوات الإلكترونية والمسابقات اليومية الملهمة الحافلة بالمعلومات، بهدف تعزيز التواصل بين الإنسان والطبيعة والتعرف على نعمة النباتات وأهميتها طوال الشهر الفضيل.
وحديقة القرآن النباتية، عضو مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع، هي حديقة تعرض كل أنواع النباتات المذكورة في القرآن الكريم والحديث الشريف وسيرة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم.
تتيح حديقة القرآن النباتية طوال الشهر المبارك لهواة النباتات ومحبي الزراعة والحدائق فرصة الفوز بجوائز من خلال مسابقة يومية تتضمن أسئلة حول آيات القرآن الكريم، تتعلق بالبيئة والطبيعة والنباتات والمصطلحات النباتية، تُنشَر كل يوم في صورة مقاطع فيديو على صفحات الحديقة عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
أما أفراد المجتمع الذين لديهم شغف بمعرفة المزيد عن حديقة القرآن النباتية ومعلومات عن النباتات بصفة عامة فيمكنهم المشاركة في الجلسات المباشرة التي تقام عبر حساب الانستجرام طوال الشهر الكريم وتسلط الضوء على موضوعات مرتبطة بالحديقة وتعرض مكتبتها الواسعة من الكتب والمطبوعات حول النباتات.
ومن أنشطة الحديقة خلال شهر رمضان برنامج من المحاضرات والندوات الإلكترونية الملهمة حول النباتات وموضوعات أخرى عديدة، منها ندوة حول الأعشاب الطبية ودورها المهم في صحة الإنسان يتحدث فيها محمد الخاطر، أخصائي النباتات والأعشاب الطبية، وأحمد الغريب، الباحث المساعد في حديقة القرآن النباتية.
ستركز ندوة إلكترونية أخرى على الأمن الغذائي أثناء تفشي جائحة فيروس كورونا “كوفيد-19″، وتناقش الندوة الظروف الراهنة واستجابة القطاع الزراعي للوباء المتفشي ويتحدث في الندوة كل مع السيد ناصر الخلف، الذي يملك واحدة من كبرى الشركات الزراعية في قطر، المهندس محمد حسونة، مهندس البستنة والخبير الزراعي في حديقة القرآن النباتية، بالإضافة إلى ممثلين من وزارة البلدية والبيئة.
وحول هذه الفعاليات علقت السيدة فاطمة الخليفي، مدير حديقة القرآن النباتية بقولها: “يسعدنا الإعلان عن برنامج حافل بالمسابقات والندوات التي تدور حول النباتات والأعشاب طوال شهر رمضان الكريم. وبفضل التكنولوجيا الحديثة والحماس الذي أبداه فريقنا وضيوفنا من الخبراء والمشاركين المتحدثين، استطعنا تنظيم مسابقات يومية شيقة ومجموعة من الندوات الإلكترونية الزاخرة بالمعلومات المفيدة والملهمة. ويُسعدنا توجيه الدعوة للجميع للانضمام إلينا في تأمل عجائب خلق الله في النباتات والطبيعة”.
