Nasser al Attiyah drives his rally car through gaming simulator
ناصر العطية يقود سيارته الرالي عبر جهاز المحاكاة

The rally-raid veteran spends his time at home maintaining his fitness, focus and family relations
Nasser al Attiyah has recently been adjusting to a new routine. With more time now being spent at home, it is important for the three-time Dakar Rally Champion to maintain his fitness and focus throughout the break.
“Staying at home I’m working on the physical side just to be prepared for once things get back to normal. There’s plenty to do and it’s important to keep yourself busy.”, says Nasser al Attiyah.
Quality time is meaningful to the Qatari champion, especially when surrounded by supportive family members. With the Gaming Unit setup at the family farmhouse, Al-Attiyah is excited to participate with his brothers in new activities.
“I’m always around family now, especially my brothers. I have six brothers and there is a lot that we get to talk about. I get a lot of support from them, both in and out of motorsports. So, it’s very special to be able to share a Rally simulator experience with them.”, says Nasser al Attiyah.
Al-Attiyah is no stranger to simulators. As a veteran of Rally and racing, he has had many encounters with virtual experiences in preparation for main events. With the Red Bull Gaming Unit Al-Attiyah can find himself reenacting his rally raid driving experience.
“The Porsche Club in the Middle East, also the 24-hours and 6-hour races in Nürburgring Germany. I used simulators to get the feeling and to learn the tracks. But this simulator is different. I can actually drive my Rally car from Dakar that we won with in 2019.”, says Nasser al Attiyah.
A simulated driving experience can give Al-Attiyah a new perspective on his technique and adventure. But off the track, the Qatari champion relies on footage to study his highlights and reflect on his decision-making during races.
“When I’m away from the track I go through all my replays. Recently I have been watching and reflecting on how I managed my last Dakar and I learn a lot.”, says Nasser al Attiyah.
Nasser al Attiyah is anticipating his next opportunity to compete, but until then he’ll be sure to stay ready and prepared to get back on the track.

ويستثمر السوبر مان القطري الوقت مع عائلته، وتطبيق برنامجه التدريبي والنظام الجديد له بطريقة مميزة، يتطلع من خلالها حامل لقب رالي داكار ثلاث مرات، إلى الحصول على أكبر قدر من التركيز والمحافظة على لياقته الذهنية.
وقال العطية: «خلال ملازمتي المنزل، أهتم كثيراً بحالتي البدنية، حتى أكون مستعداً متى عادت الأمور إلى طبيعتها».
وأضاف العطية الذي يمضي الأوقات رفقة عائلته، ويحرص على منح العائلة الاهتمام الكافي: «أمضي جل وقتي مع العائلة الآن، مع أشقائي، وما أكثر المواضيع التي نتناقش بها، فهم يمدونني بدعم كبير، في نشاطاتي الرياضية وغيرها، لذلك، هي سانحة مميزة جداً أن أتمكن من مشاركتهم تجربة جهاز محاكاة سباق الرالي».
التجارب الافتراضية
ليست أجهزة المحاكاة بالأمر الجديد بالنسبة للعطية، فهو سائق راليات وسباقات مخضرم، وسبق له أن خاض العديد من التجارب الافتراضية استعداداً للسباقات الكبرى، ومع وحدة اللعب من ريد بل، بات باستطاعة ناصر العطية أن يعيد إحياء تجربته في رالي رايد.
وقال العطية: «تسنى لي خلال بطولة كأس بورش للشرق الأوسط، كما حدث خلال سباقي الـ 24 ساعة والـ 6 ساعات في نوربورغرينغ في ألمانيا، أن أستخدم أجهزة المحاكاة حتى أدخل في جو السباق، وأتعرف على المسالك، لكن جهاز المحاكاة الحالي مختلف، ويتيح لي أن أستخدم سيارة الرالي التي أقودها في داكار، وهي التي ربحنا معها السباق السنة الماضية، عام 2019».
التسجيلات المصورة لأبرز المحطات
تتيح تجربة محاكاة القيادة لناصر أن يقارب تقنيته ومغامرته من منظور آخر، ولكن، بعيداً عن السباقات، يعتمد بطلنا القطري على التسجيلات المصورة لدراسة أبرز محطاته، وللتأمل في كيفية اتخاذه للقرارات خلال السباقات.
ويقول معلقاً: «عندما أكون بعيداً عن السباقات، أراجع جميع محطاتي المصورة، وقد انكببت مؤخراً على مشاهدة كيفية إدارتي لآخر تجربة لي في سباق داكار والتفكير فيها، وأنا أتعلم الكثير».
ويترقب ناصر العطية فرصة خوض السباقات من جديد، ولكنه سيحرص حتى ذلك الحين على الحفاظ على جاهزيته للعودة إلى الميدان.
