Milaha reports net profit of QR283m for Q1 of 2020

Qatar Navigation (Milaha) yesterday announced a net profit of QR283m for the first quarter of 2020, an increase of 2 percent, compared to QR278m for the same period in 2019. Earnings per share remained unchanged at QR0.25 for the first three months ended March 31, 2020 and for the same period in 2019. 

Milaha’s operating revenues stood at QR690m for the first quarter, down from QR710m for the same period last year. Operating profit slipped to QR200m, from QR216m for the same period in 2019. 

Milaha Maritime & Logistics’ net profit decreased by QR11m, mainly due to lower freight forwarding volumes and project work. Milaha Gas & Petrochem’s net profit increased by QR69m, driven by improved market rates benefitting both the company’s wholly owned assets and joint ventures and associates. Milaha Offshore’s bottom line decreased by QR60m, with increased vessel impairments totalling QR74m more than offsetting higher vessel utilisations. Milaha Capital’s net profit increased by QR5m mainly due to gain on sale of land which offset lower dividend and held for trading portfolio income. Milaha Trading’s bottom line also increased by QR1m, due to improved operating margins in the company’s bunker and trading agencies units.

حققت الملاحة القطرية صافي ربح قدره 283 مليون ريال خلال الربع الأول من العام الحالي، بزيادة نسبتها 2% مقارنة بالفترة ذاتها من السنة الماضية، ليبلغ العائد على السهم 0.25 ريال.

بلغت الإيرادات التشغيلية 690 مليون ريال، مقارنة بنحو 710 ملايين ريال للفترة ذاتها من السنة الماضية.

بلغت الأرباح التشغيلية 200 مليون ريال لفترة الثلاثة أشهر المنتهية في 31 مارس 2020، مقارنة مع 216 مليوناً للفترة المقابلة. وقد انخفض صافي الربح في قطاع ملاحة البحرية واللوجستية بمقدار 11 مليون ريال، وذلك نتيجة تراجع أحجام الشحن وأعمال المشاريع.

ارتفع صافي الربح في ملاحة للغاز والبتروكيماويات بمقدار 69 مليون ريال، مدفوعاً بتحسن أسعار السوق لكل من الأصول المملوكة بالكامل والترتيبات المشتركة والشركات الزميلة.

انخفض صافي الربح في قطاع ملاحة لخدمات المنصات البحرية بمقدار 60 مليون ريال، حيث أثر انخفاض قيمة السفن بمقدار 74 مليون ريال على ارتفاع نسب استخدام وتشغيل السفن.

ارتفع صافي أرباح شركة ملاحة كابيتال بمقدار 5 ملايين ريال ويرجع ذلك بشكل رئيسي إلى أرباح بيع الأراضي التي عوضت انخفاض توزيعات الأرباح وانخفاض ربح المحفظة الاستثمارية المحتفظ بها للمتاجرة. ارتفع صافي الربح في قطاع ملاحة للتجارة بمقدار 1 مليون ريال، نتيجة تحسن هامش الربح في أعمال بيع وتوزيع وقود السفن ووكالات المعدات الثقيلة.
