CCQ to offer Associate of Business Administration in hybrid format

The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) yesterday announced the official launch of its hybrid learning program, commencing from Fall 2020-2021, with the Associate of Business Administration as its first fully hybrid academic program. The new program will reinforce CCQ’s continuous endeavour to provide students with the latest educational tools and platforms in line with today’s technological advances and challenges, and to meet the needs of its students, as well as enhance their opportunities to continue their studies. The hybrid program is a combination of traditional and online learning in a way that brings together the best of both learning methods.

Through this program, CCQ aims to reach larger segments of Qatari society by tackling the challenges that come with their personal and professional duties, as well as provide them with the much-needed flexibility to pursue their academic aspirations. 

At the same time, CCQ will maintain its long-standing record of providing stellar quality education and academic results. This flexibility will be seen in offering some courses over the weekends, while conducting the rest of the courses online throughout the week. 

Commenting on the announcement, Dr. Mohamed Al Naimi, CCQ President, said: “Our hybrid learning courses were developed based on internationally-recognized standards and we were keen on benefiting from the previous experiences of international institutions before applying this program. CCQ has assigned a specialized committee to follow up on the development of necessary courses, and define technical, academic and advising needs to provide maximum support to both students and faculty members to ensure the smoothness and effectiveness of this program, with all offered hybrid learning courses being subject to continuous supervision, review and development.”  

“Applying this program aligns with CCQ’s continuous endeavor to provide a qualitative learning experience for members of the Qatari community and enable them to achieve their academic and professional aspirations, as well as support the efforts of the State of Qatar to shift towards a knowledge-based economy and society capable of keeping up with the pace of global development and face future challenges,” he said.

Highlighting their well-defined strategical standards for the learning process, CCQ emphasized setting clear standards for teaching and developing hybrid courses and providing the necessary training and qualifications for faculty members to effectively teach hybrid courses. At the same time, the College will provide the necessary support to all students, who wish to enrol in hybrid courses, by providing them with guidance and advising on the nature and requirements of these courses and programs, in addition to enhancing their technical skills to maximize the benefits from this program.

CCQ admission officials have made it clear that students who wish to enrol in the Associate of Business Administration through the hybrid learning program must pass a technical skills test, in addition to meeting the admission requirements of CCQ. Due to the limited numbers of students, who will be admitted into the first batch, they also urged students to enrol as soon as possible in the courses offered. CCQ has also initiated plans to offer a bachelor’s degree for the same major in the future. 

The College will also work on expanding the hybrid learning program to cover other majors in accordance with the students’ needs and the effectiveness of the program, while exploring the possibility of offering additional summer courses if necessary.

Launched as a pilot program by CCQ, the hybrid learning initiative commenced in Fall 2019 with two classes. Further courses were developed and put forward in the second experimental phase in Spring 2020. In October 2019, the College organized a workshop, during which it explored and discussed global experiences in the field of hybrid learning. The workshop tackled a number of topics: how to plan and deliver lectures using the hybrid learning technology, the best strategies to help students adapt to this technology, and instructions for faculty members to guide them in preparing content for this new learning approach.

أعلنت كلية المجتمع في قطر عن طرح برنامج الدبلوم المشارك في إدارة الأعمال كأول برنامج أكاديمي تقدمه الكلية بنظام التعليم المدمج بالكامل، بداية من خريف 2020-2021.

ودعت الكلية الطلاب الذين يرغبون في الالتحاق بالبرنامج إلى الإسراع بالتسجيل في المقررات المطروحة بهذا النظام نظرا لأن عدد الطلبة الذين سيتم قبولهم ضمن الدفعة الأولى محدود.

ويأتي إطلاق البرنامج بالنظام الجديد انطلاقا من سعي الكلية المتواصل لتوفير أحدث البرامج والوسائل التعليمية التي تتماشى مع متطلبات العصر وتحدياته وتلبي احتياجات طلابها وطالبتها وتعزز من فرصهم في مواصلة التعلم واستكمال دراستهم الجامعية. حيث يجمع نظام التعليم المدمج أفضل ما في نظامي التعليم التقليدي والتعليم الإلكتروني بطريقة متوازنة.

كما تهدف كلية المجتمع من خلال طرح نظام التعليم المدمج إلى خدمة شريحة أكبر من أفراد المجتمع عبر تذليل العقبات التي قد تواجه عددا منهم نتيجة للظروف المهنية أو العائلية وتوفير المرونة اللازمة لهم، مع الحفاظ على جودة المواد المطروحة والتحصيل الأكاديمي للطالب، من خلال طرح مقررات خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع، على أن يتم استكمال المخرجات التعليمية لباقي الأسبوع عن بعد.

وقد وضعت الكلية معايير واضحة للتدريس وتطوير مقررات التعليم المدمج وتوفير التدريب والتأهيل اللازم لأعضاء هيئة التدريس حول استراتيجيات تدريس مقررات التعليم المدمج.

كما ستوفر الكلية الدعم اللازم لجميع الطلبة الذين يرغبون في الالتحاق بمقررات التعليم المدمج، من خلال تقديم الإرشاد والتوجيه حول طبيعة ومتطلبات المقررات والبرامج المدمجة، بالإضافة إلى العمل على تطوير المهارات التقنية الضرورية للطلاب بما يساعدهم على تحقيق أقصى استفادة ممكنة من البرنامج.

وأوضح الدكتور محمد إبراهيم النعيمي، رئيس كلية المجتمع، أن الكلية تقوم بالعمل على طرح مقررات التعليم المدمج وفقا لمعايير محددة معتمدة عالميا، كما تحرص على الاستفادة من الخبرات والتجارب السابقة لمؤسسات عالمية قبل تطبيق هذا النظام.

وأضاف أن الكلية شكلت لجنة متخصصة لمتابعة تطوير المقررات المطلوبة، وتحديد الاحتياجات التقنية والأكاديمية والإرشادية، وذلك لتوفير أقصى دعم لكل من الطلاب والأساتذة وبما يضمن سير البرنامج بطريقة سلسة وفعالة، علما بأن المقررات المطروحة بنظام التعليم المدمج تخضع لإشراف ومراجعة وتطوير مستمر.

ولفت الدكتور النعيمي إلى أن طرح نظام التعليم المدمج يأتي في إطار سعي الكلية المتواصل لتوفير تجربة تعليمية نوعية لأفراد المجتمع القطري وتمكينهم من تحقيق طموحاتهم الأكاديمية والمهنية، وكذلك دعم جهود دولة قطر للتحول نحو اقتصاد المعرفة والمساهمة في بناء مجتمع معرفي ومعلوماتي قادر على مواكبة التطورات العالمية ومواجهة التحديات المستقبلية.

وأطلقت كلية المجتمع في قطر نظام التعليم المدمج في خريف 2019 بشكل تجريبي، وتم طرح شعبتين بهذا النظام كمرحلة أولى. كما تم تطوير المزيد من المقررات وطرحها في المرحلة التجريبية الثانية في ربيع 2020.
