Milaha expands with acquisition of new floating dock
«ملاحة» توسّع خدماتها عبر رصيف عائم جديد
Qatar’s maritime transport and logistics conglomerate, Milaha, will expand its facilities with the acquisition of a new floating dock to support vessels repair and dry docking.
The dock is set to arrive at the Mesaieed Shipyard in the coming months and will be fully-operational in the second half of this year.
The dock acquisition is part of the major upgrade and modernisation plan of the shipyard facilities announced last year and will provide key support to the government and private sector in all its maritime and oil and gas sectors.
Group president and CEO Abdulrahman Essa al-Mannai said, “As per our plan announced in December 2018, Milaha’s shipyard is undergoing a major modernisation programme aiming to ensure future success by building on its past accomplishments and set the standards for a quality and safety oriented solution to the market and to Qatar.
“We are pleased to announce that we have finalised the acquisition of a new floating dock able to accommodate vessels for ship-repair up to 230m in length and up to 30,000-tonne lifting capacity. This will supplement our ship-repair and dry-docking activities. The dock will cater for all vessels from both local and international markets, and will be operational in the second half of this year.”
Milaha’s ongoing support of the local fleet will again help boost the Qatar economy, and lead to future developments to benefit the country ahead of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Since its foundation, Milaha’s strategically-located shipyard has repaired more than 8,000 vessels by serving several regional and international ship owners. The shipyard also serves industrial markets by providing maintenance, shutdown, offshore fabrication, and workshops services.

سيصل الرصيف العائم إلى قاعدة مسيعيد البحرية ويدخل حيز الاستعمال في النصف الثاني من هذه السنة، وسيصبح فاعلاً بشكل كامل في عام 2021، وفقاً للمخطط الزمني الذي وضعته الشركة.
هذا وسبق لملاحة قبل سنتين أن أعلنت عن نيتها القيام بتحديث لمتابعة مسيرة نجاحاتها في إصلاح السفن، وتوفير الدعم اللازم لملاك السفن، التي بدأت قبل أكثر من أربعة عقود، أي في عام 1978.
وفي هذا الصدد، علّق السيد عبدالرحمن عيسى المناعي، الرئيس التنفيذي لملاحة، قائلاً: «كما أعلنا سابقاً في خطتنا عام 2018، فإننا نقوم بتحديث حوض السفن الخاص بشركة ملاحة، بهدف ضمان نجاحتنا المستقبلية من خلال البناء على إنجازاتنا السابقة في إصلاح السفن».
وأردف قائلاً: «يسرّنا أن نُعلن عن اقتناء رصيف بحري عائم يوفر مساحة قادرة على احتضان سفن بطول 230 متراً وبقدرة رفع تناهز 30,000 طن، مما سيدعم أنشطتنا في مجالات تصليح السفن والرسو الجاف. سيوفر الرصيف أرقى الخدمات لكل السفن من الأسواق المحلية والدولية، وسيبدأ عمله في النصف الثاني من هذه السنة».
سيُعزز دعم شركة ملاحة المستمر للأسطول المحلي الاقتصاد القطري، وسيؤدي إلى تطورات مستقبلية كبيرة تعود بالنفع على الدولة، خاصة مع اقتراب موعد إتمام رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن حوض السفن الخاص بشركة ملاحة قد أصلح، منذ تأسيسه، وعبر موقعه الاستراتيجي، ما يربو على 8000 سفينة تابعة لمالكي السفن الإقليميين والعالميين. كما يخدم حوض السفن الأسواق الصناعية من خلال توفير خدمات الصيانة، والإصلاح، وخدمات ورشات العمل.
