DOHA WHERE & WHEN? (March 5-7,2020)
Cherish another weekend with your friends and family at a musical evening or a cat show. We have listed a few events and activities happening around town for you to choose from. A few international events like MotoGP, Qumra 2020, Dimdex, which were scheduled in the coming weeks, stand cancelled due to the global travel restrictions.
Please do check the timing of the events on their official social media handles for any last-minute cancellations. We will also try and update the list as and when we receive information.
A Musical Evening in Paris
To celebrate the year of Qatar – France, Katara with the Embassy of France in Qatar will celebrate a musical evening. Musicians from the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and Qatar Music Academy members will recreate the era of the 19th century by performing tunes of famous composers of that era. The event is free and open to the public.

Messi10 by Cirque du Soleil
Messi10 by Cirque du Soleil is a live acrobatic show that bridges world of football and circus together with a team of 46 artists. It portrays the journey, obstacles and ambition of the greatest number 10 football player Messi. The tickets for the two hour show are priced between QR 295 to QR 1495 and can be bought online.

143 Sahara Street
Doha Film Institute will screen a documentary about Malika who lives alone and runs a cafe in the middle of the desert and how her life changes around by serving coffee and eggs to the wide array of visitors who enter the café. 143 Sahara Street is an Algerian-French-Qatari production, which is directed by Hassen Ferhani who has won 7 awards for his films. The film is in Arabic with English subtitles.

Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4
A classical music evening conducted by Dmitrij Kitajenko, Lyonel Schmit, violin and Giovanni Pasini, viola to perform Symphony No. 4 in F Minor, Op. 36. The symphony was created between the year of 1877 and 1878 with Nikolai Rubinstein as conductor.
The tickets range between QR 125 – QR 250.

Whiskers and Purrs Community Cat Show
Dedicated to cat lovers, Whiskers & Purrs Community Cat Show is open to anyone who owns or has fostered any cat and for those who don’t own one; borrowing from one of the shelters in town is also an option. Apart from cat show, there is activities for families without cats such as Bouncy castle, face-painting, paint the purrs and much more.

Spring Fair 2020
A festival for entire family that offers various games and activities for all ages, such as bouncy castles, dance performances, local bazaar and a large variety of food restaurants to choose from and much more. Entry ticket QR 5 and free for ages 2 and under.

2020 Qatar Grand Prix
After MotoGP being cancelled due to travel restrictions , Grand Prix of Qatar will go ahead with the Moto2 and Moto3 races at the Losail International Circuit. At the grandstand area you can still enjoy all the activities scheduled (kids karting, kids quad bikes, skate park and a variety of food vendors) and at the Losail Club there will be live commentary of all the sessions with a live band.
Also shuttle buses available every 10 minutes back and forth from Lusail Metro station to Losail International Circuit (Public Area)

The 4th Cultural Diversity Festival
Katara will host folkloric shows and traditional arts as part of the 4th Cultural Diversity Festival every weekend. The festival features an array of cultural performances from different nations around the world and aims to act as bridge between cultures and provide a multicultural harmonious environment. The festival is free for everyone.

Longines Global Champions Tour – Doha
The second year of the phenomenal Al Shaqab equestrian facility in Doha, Qatar, presents opening leg of the 2020 Longines Global Champions Tour and GCL season where top international horses and riders from around the world will be competing for the title. The event also includes activities for kids and families along with cafes. Raffle draws will take place during the LGCT first leg and the prizes include business class flights, luxury hotel stays, hot air balloon rides, and much more!
Tickets for children between 7-12 years cost QR 15, where as adults cost QR 35 and QR 500 VIP. Tickets can be booked for each day or as a 3 day package!

Katara Winter Festival & Bazaar
An indoor bazaar with more than 200 stalls from 18 different countries offering wide range of products such as clothes, handicraft, perfumes, ladies bags, footwear, mobile phone accessories and much more. The 18 day festival has a vast playground for children and food stalls selling delicious snacks, traditional local cuisine.

MIA Park Bazaar
A weekend market which is a modern take on Qatar’s old souq tradition will have around 50 stalls offering a wide variety of products. The bazaar at Museum of Islamic Art park will have stalls selling ready-to-wear clothes, caps, footwear, shayla, sunglasses, bags, jewellery, watches, cosmetics, fragrances, and other accessories. The stalls representing home-based businesses also sold home display items and sumptuous home-cooked cuisines to the visitors.
