82 shipments destroyed for violation

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment’s agricultural quarantine office has inspected 5,586 imported shipments, weighing more than 83,071 tonnes from different types of imported agricultural consignments, plant products and production inputs in June across the different customs points.
The quarantine office destroyed 82 shipments weighing more than 95 tonnes for violating the agricultural quarantine law and for certain damages.
The agricultural quarantine is a first line of defence for protection from agricultural infections. The preventive procedure aims to protect the country’s agricultural wealth from foreign-originated pests. It also requires that all plants, agricultural products and any other materials shall be subject to phytosanitary regulations for its procedures and to ensure that other agricultural production inputs are in conformity with the conditions and

قامت وزارة البلدية والبيئة ممثلة بمكاتب الحجر الزراعي التابعة لإدارة الشؤون الزراعية خلال شهر يونيو الماضي بالكشف على (5586) إرسالية زنتها (83071.251) طناً من مختلف أنواع الإرساليات الزراعية المستوردة (إرساليات نباتية ، منتجات مدخلات إنتاج).وقد تم إتلاف (82) إرسالية زنتها (95.78) طناً لمخالفتها لقانون الحجر الزراعي وإصابتها بآفات حجرية أو غير حجرية بنسب كبيرة .
يُذكر أن الحجر الزراعي يعتبر خط الدفاع الأول لحماية ووقاية النبات من الآفات الزراعية وهو الإجراء الوقائي الذي يهدف إلى حماية الثروة النباتية في البلاد من خطر الإصابة بالآفات من خارج البلاد والذي يقضي بإخضاع جميع النباتات والمنتجات الزراعية وأي مواد أخرى خاضعة للوائح الصحة النباتية لإجراءات الحجر الزراعي، ومدى مطابقة مدخلات الإنتاج الزراعي الأخرى للشروط والمواصفات المعمول بها ، كما تقوم مكاتب الحجر الزراعي بتطبيق قانون الحجر الزراعي رقم (24) لسنة 2005م ولائحته التنفيذية والقرارات والتعاميم التابعة له.
