The first Arab woman to reach the highest peak of “Ama Dablam” mountain

Doha: After reaching the top of The Himalayan Mountain, The Omani climber and adventurer Nazira al-Harithia achieved an unprecedented Arab achievement.

According to the Omani newspaper “Ether”, al-Harithia began her journey weeks ago to reach the summit of “Ama Dablam”, one of the most difficult peaks of the Himalayas, at an altitude of 6,812 meters, located in Nepal. “The night of the ascent was very difficult because of the cold and the wind, but I achieved a new Omani and Arab achievement,” al-Harithia told the newspaper.

In an earlier interview with The Ether, the sponsor of the al-Harithia trip, she said she started climbing the mountain in 2018 as part of her training, but did not succeed at the time because she felt the symptoms of altitudes, even though she was about to arrive and only 300 meters from the summit, but had to retreat due to health and safety.

Al-Harithia renewed the attempt to be the first Omani and Arab woman to climb this summit, and this mountain is a difficult mountain in climbing, and the climber needs great capabilities and special techniques, and there is a little bit of danger in the way of climbing, so it requires caution and focus.

Al-Harithia has achieved the goal she has worked on for more than three years on a journey that has lasted nearly a month, because large mountaineering takes time for the body to adapt to these altitudes in terms of atmospheric pressure and temperatures.

الدوحة: حققت المتسلقة والمغامرة العُمانية نظيرة الحارثية، إنجازاً عربياً غير مسبوق؛ بعد أن نجحت في الوصول إلى قمة جبل “اما دابلام” أعلى قمم جبال الهمالايا.

وبحسب ما ذكرت صحيفة “أثير” العُمانية، بدأت الحارثية رحلتها قبل أسابيع لبلوغ قمة “اما دابلام”، وهي من أصعب قمم جبال الهمالايا، على ارتفاع 6812 متراً، والواقعة في “نيبال”. تقول الحارثية للصحيفة: “كانت ليلة الصعود شاقة جداً بسبب البرد والريح، ولكنني حققت إنجازاً عمانياً وعربياً جديداً”.

وفي حديث سابق لصحيفة “أثير” الراعية لرحلة الحارثية ذكرت أنها بدأت تسلق هذا الجبل في عام 2018 كجزء من تدريباتها، لكنها لم تنجح في ذلك الوقت بسبب شعورها بأعراض الارتفاعات، بالرغم من أنها كانت على وشك الوصول ولم يتبقَّ سوى 300 متر من القمة، لكنها اضطرت للتراجع بسبب الصحة والسلامة.

وجددت الحارثية المحاولة لرغبتها في أن تكون أول امرأة عمانية وعربية تتسلق هذه القمة، وهذا الجبل يعد من الجبال الصعبة في التسلق، ويحتاج المتسلق إلى إمكانيات كبيرة وتقنيات خاصة، وهناك خطورة نوعاً ما في طريق التسلق، لذلك يتطلب الحذر والتركيز.

وبهذا حققت الحارثية هدفها الذي عملت عليه منذ أكثر من 3 أعوام في رحلة استغرقت نحو شهراً كامل، وذلك لأن تسلق الجبال الكبيرة يحتاج إلى وقت لتأقلم الجسم مع هذه الارتفاعات من حيث الضغط الجوي ودرجات الحرارة.
