New details about the bridges of the “Sharq Crossing”

Qatar TV broadcast on Wednesday a detailed report on Sharq Crossing Project, describing it as an architectural icon and the first project of its kind in the country that will make a quantum leap in traffic.
The report reviewed more details about the crossing, which is a strategic link of the main roads in the country, as it consists of bridges that connect to each other through a water tunnel with a total of 12 km above sea level, linking Ras Bouaboud Street and the West Bay area.
The report indicated that the project contains construction elements that include the implementation of bridges and roads with lateral tendencies, in addition to a water tunnel up to 1 km in length to ensure the continuity of the navigation movement of ships flowingly over the tunnel.
The report stated that the project contains 3 bridges connected to each other through submerged water tunnels, where the West Bay Bridge includes two floors, a longitudinal garden and a system for electric vehicles that extends to an island that includes recreational facilities and a tourist marina. Through the tubular structure design to the adjacent entrances to Hamad International Airport.
The report also touched on the role of the vital Sharq Crossing in serving the 2022 World Cup stadiums, such as the Ras Bouaboud stadium and Lusail stadium, where road pioneers from Ras Bouaboud will be able to reach the West Bay in about seven minutes.
It is noteworthy that the Public Works Authority “Ashghal” invited local companies to attend an introductory session on Sharq Crossing with the aim of forming alliances with international companies to implement this vital project.
أذاع تلفزيون قطر الأربعاء، تقريرا تفصيليا عن مشروع معبر شرق، ووصفه بالآيقونة المعمارية والمشروع الأول من نوعه في الدولة الذي سيحدث نقلة نوعية في الحركة المرورية حيث يربط مطار حمد الدولي شرق مدينة الدوحة بمنطقة الأعمال في الخليج الغربي والحي الثقافي “كتارا” ومدينة لوسيل.
واستعرض التقرير مزيدا من التفاصيل عن المعبر الذي يعد محور ربط استراتيجي للطرق الرئيسية في الدولة ، حيث يتكون من جسور تتصل ببعضها عبر نفق مائي بإجمالي 12 كم فوق سطح البحر ليصل بين شارع راس بوعبود ومنطقة الخليج الغربي.
وأشار التقرير إلى أن المشروع يحتوي على عناصر إنشائية تشمل تنفيذ جسور وطرق بميول جانبية، بالإضافة إلى نفق مائي يصل طوله إلى 1 كم وذلك لضمان استمرارية حركة الملاحة للسفن بشكل انسيابي فوق النفق.
وذكر التقرير أن المشروع يحتوي على 3 جسور مرتبطة ببعضها عبر أنفاق مائية مغمورة حيث يضم جسر الخليج الغربي طابقين وحديقة طولية ونظاما للعربات الكهربائية ويمتد لجزيرة تشمل مرافق ترفيهية ومرسى سياحيا وسيتشكل جسر الحي الثقافي من سلسلة جسور معلقة تمتد في منطقة الخليج الغربي أما جسر شرق فسيمتد من خلال هيكل أنبوبي التصميم إلى المداخل المتاخمة لمطار حمد الدولي.
وتطرق التقرير أيضا إلى دور معبر شرق الحيوي في خدمة ملاعب كأس العالم 2022 مثل استاد راس بوعبود واستاد لوسيل، حيث سيستطيع رواد الطريق القادمون من راس بوعبود الوصول إلى الخليج الغربي في نحو سبع دقائق فقط.
يذكر أن هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” دعت الشركات المحلية لحضور جلسة تعريفية عن معبر شرق بهدف تشكيل تحالفات مع شركات عالمية لتنفيذ هذا المشروع الحيوي.
