Sheikha Al Mayassa participates in an initiative to collect plastics from Fariha beach

الشيخة المياسة تشارك في مبادرة لجمع البلاستيك من شاطىء فريحة 

In the presence of its Chairperson, H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar Museums (QM) has organised a ‘Clean-Up Day’ at Freiha — one of the country’s most important settlements.

In alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030, which emphasises on the importance of creating a sustainable environment, QM is moving towards a renewed focus on protecting the environment — particularly when it comes to heritage sites.

The initiative was organised in collaboration with the Doha Environmental Actions Project (DEAP), a volunteering organisation leading the beach clean-up movement and fight against plastic pollution in Qatar.

شاركت سعادة الشيخة المياسة بنت حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس أمناء متاحف قطر، في مبادرة لجمع البلاستيك من شاطئ “فريحة” شمال غرب قطر.

وقالت سعادتها – في تغريدة على حسابها الرسمي بموقع تويتر – “جمعنا الكثير من البلاستيك اليوم من شاطئ فريحة شمال غرب قطر .. مكان جميل وفيه كثير من طيور النورس” ..

وأضافت : “شاركونا الحملة شباب وبنات من جميع الجنسيات والأعمار مؤمنين بأهمية التخلص من البلاستيك اللي يؤثر على جمال الحياة من بر وبحر .. شكراً “ديب” على هذه المبادرة والتنظيم”.

ونشرت سعادة الشيخة المياسة بنت حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني صوراً لسعادتها ومجموعة من المتطوعين يقومون بجمع البلاستيك من الشاطئ .

ولاقت المبادرة تفاعلاً كبيراً على موقع تويتر.
