Qatargas’ LR1 marks 10 yrs of operation without LTI
«قطر غاز»: 10 أعوام من العمل دون حوادث مُقعِدة عن العمل
Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas) yesterday announced it has successfully managed to operate Laffan Refinery 1 (LR1) with zero Lost Time Injury (LTI) case for 10 years since it started production in 2009.
The refinery processes condensate, is an associated product to natural gas production that is refined into a number of high-quality products which can be used as lower emission fuels and feedstock for petrochemical production. All products are hydro-treated to reduce the content of sulphur, meeting the most stringent quality standards (Euro V).
This is a significant achievement and proves dedication of all staff involved, including long and short-term contractors, to meet Qatargas’ standard of the highest safety performance. This milestone underscores Qatargas’ commitment to creating and sustaining an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture across all its LNG and associated facilities.
Commenting on this achievement, Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatargas Chief Executive Officer, said: “This world-class achievement is testament to the dedication and focus of our employees and contractors in operating Qatargas’ assets safely, efficiently and reliably.”
The refinery has a processing capacity of 160,600 barrels per stream day (bpsd), and a production capacity of 81,000 bpsd of naphtha, 61,600 bpsd of kerojet, 24,000 bpsd of gasoil, and 935 Tonnes Per Day (TPD) of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
LR1 shareholders are Qatar Petroleum (51%), Total (10%), ExxonMobil (10%), Cosmo (10%), Idemitsu (10%), Mitsui (4.5%) and Marubeni (4.5%).
It is also worth mentioning that LR1 has successfully completed its first 34-days turnaround in 2014 with zero injury.
Qatargas, the world’s premiere LNG Company, said in a press statement that safety is a core value shared by the company’s employees and contractors. The company’s management has spared no effort in providing systems, tools and environment to reinforce the importance of safety. In addition, strong leadership and compliance with the Qatargas Life Saving Rules make such accomplishments possible, it added.
نجحت شركة قطر غاز للتشغيل المحدودة «قطر غاز» في تشغيل مصفاة «راس لفان 1»، على مدار عشرة أعوام دون تسجيل أية حوادث مُقعِدة عن العمل، وذلك منذ بدء عملياتها الإنتاجية في سنة 2009.
وتقوم المصفاة بمعالجة المُكثِّفات، وهي أحد المنتجات المصاحبة لإنتاج الغاز الطبيعي، والتي يتم تكريرها وتحويلها إلى عدد من المنتجات عالية الجودة التي يمكن استخدامها وقوداً منخفض الانبعاثات، ومواد خام لإنتاج البتروكيماويات، وتتم معالجة جميع المنتجات بالهيدروجين لتقليل نسبة الكبريت، واستيفاء أكثر المعايير البيئية صرامة وهي المواصفات الأوروبية رقم 5 (Euro V).
إنجاز
إن هذا الإنجاز مهم ويُبرهن على تفاني جميع الموظفين المعنيين، بمن في ذلك المقاولون لفترات طويلة وقصيرة الأجل، وذلك لتلبية معيار «قطر غاز» المُتمثِّل في تحقيق أعلى أداء في مجال السلامة. ويُؤكد هذا الحدث المهم التزام «قطر غاز» بخلق ودعم ثقافة خالية من الحوادث والإصابات في جميع مرافقها للغاز الطبيعي المسال والمرافق المرتبطة بها.
وصرّح الشيخ خالد بن خليفة آل ثاني، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة «قطر غاز»، قائلاً في معرض تعليقه على هذه المناسبة: «إن هذا الإنجاز الرائع الذي حققناه في مجال السلامة، يبرهن على إخلاص وتركيز جميع موظفينا ومقاولينا -على حدٍّ سواء- على اتباع قواعد السلامة في تشغيل جميع أصول الشركة ومنشآتها بكفاءة وفاعلية».
والمساهمون في «مصفاة لفان 1» هم: قطر للبترول (51%)، وتوتال (10%)، وإكسون موبيل (10%)، وكوزمو (10%)، وإيديميتسو (10%)، وميتسوي (4.5%)، وماروبيني (4.5%).
