Ooredoo team heads to IAAF World Athletics Championships
قيادات «ooredoo» تتابع منافسات بطولة العالم لألعاب القوى
As National Partner for the IAAF World Athletics Championships and in line with its continuous support for sports, Ooredoo arranged a trip for Ooredoo employees to attend competitions at Khalifa International Stadium and show their support for the great national athletes as they competed.
The telco leader closed its headquarters early and arranged four buses to transport 200 employees to the stadium to join Group Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani and several other senior executives from Ooredoo as they enjoyed watching the sporting events throughout the afternoon.
The Ooredoo team cheered on the reigning world high jump champion, Mutaz Barshim, who was competing in the Men’s High Jump category, as well as star athletes Abdalelah Haroun, the Qatari 400m standout who won the Bronze medal in London in 2017, and Mariam Farid, also ambassador of the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019, who was competing in the 400 metres hurdles.
Ooredoo has a long history of supporting sporting events in Qatar as a key part of its corporate social responsibility strategy, with the aim of promoting healthy, active lifestyles and community cohesion, and the telco leader has been associated with some of the most prestigious sporting events in recent years as well as events organised by local communities.

Naturally, we’ve been rooting for the Qatar athletes throughout the event, and we were delighted to arrange for our employees to visit the Khalifa International Stadium to show their support to our national heroes. في إطار دعمها للرياضة والرياضيين، وكونها الشريك الوطني للبطولة، توجه فريق من «ooredoo» أمس الأول، إلى استاد خليفة الدولي لدعم وتشجيع الرياضيين القطريين خلال مشاركتهم في بطولة العالم لألعاب القوى الدوحة 2019، وتقدم الحضور الشيخ سعود بن ناصر آل ثاني الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة «ooredoo»، إلى جانب عدد من كبار المسؤولين في الشركة. وخصصت الشركة 4 حافلات لنقل الموظفين -الذين تجاوز عددهم 200 موظف- إلى استاد خليفة لمؤازرة أبطال قطر، وفي مقدمتهم الذهبي معتز برشم في منافسات الوثب العالي، وكذلك كل من عبدالإله هارون ومريم فريد في سباقات 400 متر و400 متر حواجز على التوالي، ومتابعة بقية الرياضيين المشاركين والاستمتاع بأجواء البطولة.
في هذا السياق، قالت منار خليفة المريخي مديرة إدارة العلاقات العامة واتصالات الشركة في «ooredoo قطر»: «لا شك أن دعمنا لبطولة العالم لألعاب القوى يأتي من منطلق واجبنا الوطني، وكذلك ضمن دورنا في دعم الرياضة، والتي ساهمت في جعل دولة قطر محطاً لأنظار العالم، كما أن استضافة مثل هذه البطولة في الدوحة تعتبر إنجازاً كبيراً للغاية، وخصوصاً أن البطولة تعتبر ثالث أهم بطولة رياضية في العالم بعد الأولمبياد ومونديال كرة القدم، لذلك فإن دعمنا ومؤازرتنا أمر حتمي، من منطلق حرصنا على نجاح هذه التظاهرة الرياضية العالمية، وبدورنا نتمنى التوفيق لأبطالنا في المنافسات المقبلة، وأن يكون الذهب حليفهم بإذن الله».
