‘The Big 5 Construct Qatar’ expo to host over 150 exhibitors

With renewed support, the second edition of the country’s premier construction event—‘The Big 5 Construct Qatar’— will kick-start on September 23. Over 150 exhibitors from 20 countries will be showcasing their products aiming to tap business opportunities in Qatar’s $75bn (QR273bn) construction project market.
Companies from some of Qatar’s major trading partner countries, such as Turkey, India, China, will have their own pavilions at the three-day expo. Qatar’s construction community will be able to source thousands of the latest and innovative products and solutions to meet the country’s future projects’ demand.
The Qatar market offers excellent opportunities for construction companies, with about QR16.38bn ($4.5bn) worth of projects having been awarded in the first six months of 2019, according to a MEED Projects report commissioned by The Big 5 Construct Qatar.
According to the latest MEED report, the country’s long-term National Vision 2030 and preparations for the much-anticipated FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ continue to see increased construction demands.
Projects worth $4.5bn have been awarded in Qatar during the first half of this year, with just under $5bn worth of contracts currently being bid upon. Of the remainder, more than $23bn worth of projects are in the design stage and expected to come out for bid over the next 24 months, while projects valued at more than $46bn are currently in the study stage. All this indicates a healthy pipeline of construction activity in the country.
In a press conference yesterday, dmg events (Doha), the organiser of the expo, announced that the second edition of event will run under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The event is backed by Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC), strategic partner, and will run at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center until September 25.
Present at the press meet were Matt Denton, President, dmg events, Loubna Aghzafi, Country Manager, dmg events Doha, Ahmed AlObaidli from Qatar National Tourism Council, Ali Al Marri of Taleb Group, Ali Chahrour, Group Development Manager, Al Darwish Engineering.

أعلنت «دي أم جي إيفنتس» -الشركة المنظمة فعاليات معرض مواد البناء قطر «The Big 5 Construct Qatar»- عن إقامة النسخة الثانية من المعرض، والمزمع عقدها خلال الفترة من من 23 إلى 25 سبتمبر الحالي، في مركز الدوحة للمعارض والمؤتمرات. وتحظى نسخة المعرض هذا العام بشراكة استراتيجية مع المجلس الوطني للسياحة، ويأتي هذا الدعم المتجدد إثر النجاح الكبير الذي حققته النسخة الأولى من المعرض في 2018، والتي ساهمت في تيسير فرص الأعمال والاستثمارات الدولية في مشاريع الإنشاءات والبناء، المقدّرة قيمتها بحوالي 75 مليار دولار. وتحدّث في المؤتمر الصحافي المنعقد أمس، والخاص بالإعلان عن المؤتمر، السيد مات دنتون رئيس شركة «دي أم جي إيفنتس»، ولبنى أغزافي مدير «دي أم جي إيفنتس- الدوحة»، ومن المجلس الوطني للسياحة السيد أحمد العبيدلي، بالإضافة إلى علي المري مدير العلاقات العامة لمجموعة طالب، وعلي شحرور مدير التطوير في شركة هندسة الدرويش.
وقال مات دنتون، رئيس «دي أم جي إيفنتس»: «يتشرف معرض تكنولوجيا البناء في قطر (The Big 5 Construct Qatar) بأن يحظى مرة أخرى برعاية معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية؛ فهذا الحدث يهدف إلى تقديم الدعم لقطاعات البناء والنقل والبنية التحتية، ونفتخر بأن يخدم الأهداف الاستراتيجية للرؤية الوطنية 2030».

بدوره، صرّح أحمد العبيدلي، من المجلس الوطني للسياحة: «يعدّ قطاع المعارض ركيزة مهمة وأساسية في استراتيجية المجلس الوطني للسياحة لتعزيز السياحة في قطر. وبدورنا نقدّر مساهمة الشركات المنظمة لهذه المعارض والفعاليات، ومنها (دي أم جي إيفنتس- الدوحة)، في استقطاب شركات الأعمال الإقليمية والدولية إلى قطر. ونتطلع إلى الترحيب بالخبراء والمختصين في مجال البناء من حول العالم في نسخة هذا العام من المعرض؛ حيث سيطّلعون على الفرص التي يوفرها قطاع البناء في ظل مواصلة قطر تطوير بنية تحتية حديثة ومتطورة لخدمة المواطنين والمقيمين والزوار». وقال علي المري، مدير العلاقات العامة في مجموعة طالب: «يسعدنا المشاركة في معرض مواد البناء في قطر (The Big 5 Construct Qatar)، خصوصاً أن شركتنا تعمل على تحقيق مستويات غير مسبوقة من الجودة والخدمة، وتحرص على تقديم ما هو جديد لدعم ركائز رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030. وتأتي مشاركتنا في المعرض ضمن هذه الرؤية ودعم اقتصادنا الوطني، وتعريف عملائنا على كل ما هو جديد من منتجات وخدمات».

من جانبه؛ صرّح السيد علي شحرور، مدير التطوير المجموعة في شركة هندسة الدرويش: «لطالما ساهمت شركة هندسة الدرويش في دعم قطاع البناء في قطر. وقد حصلنا مؤخراً على أربع مشاريع إنشاء ضخمة في البناء والبنية التحتية، منها مدرسة يونايتد مع شركة (UDC) ومصرف الريان. وتعمل شركتنا باستمرار على تقييم مؤشرات الأداء بهدف تلبية متطلبات العملاء وحاجاتهم المتغيرة. نحن فخورون بأن نكون جزءاً من هذه النسخة من المعرض للتواصل مع المساهمين والشركاء والعملاء، لنعكس قيم شعارنا (استعدوا للتألق)».
ويشارك في النسخة الثانية من المعرض أكثر من 150 عارضاً من 20 دولة؛ حيث يمكن لشركات البناء الاطلاع على أحدث المنتجات والتعرف على آخر الحلول التي تلبي متطلبات المشاريع الحالية والمستقبلية في قطر. كما يشكّل الحدث منصة مهمة للشركات الإقليمية والدولية الرئيسية لتبادل المعارف والخبرات، مما يقدّم فرصاً قيّمة لكسب المعلومات والتعلم من خلال تنظيم أكثر من 35 جلسة وورشة تعليمية معتمدة.
