Qatar Airways’s Amman office to spur Qatari investment in Jordan

Qatar Airways celebrated the opening of its new office in Amman which was initiated with its inauguration on September 2. The office opening ceremony was attended by the Transport Minister of Jordan, Eng. Anmar Khasawneh, and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, along with other dignitaries.

The property has been established to create a cohesive and distinct working space for Qatar Airways employees in Jordan’s Shmeisani area, widely considered the principal financial and business district of Amman. The office embodies Qatar Airways’ standard of excellence and is uniquely designed with six floors characterised with curved, winged stone detailing.

Eng. Anmar Khasawneh hailed the opening of Qatar Airways’ new offices in Amman as the first Qatari owned investment in The Kingdom of Jordan and expressed his hopes that it would spur a series of Qatari investments within the country.

He further illustrated the brotherly relations between Jordan and Qatar by highlighting the importance of overcoming challenges that hinder progress with regards to the transportion sector.

The building is anchored by the airline’s offices and offers for rent 24 well-appointed offices and showroom, with large underground parking, 24/7 security services, and high quality on-site facilities management services.

The building spans nearly 2,000sqm of land and over 11,000sqm of built up area.

During the media roundtable held in Amman on September 2, Akbar Al Baker, said: “Jordan is an integral market for Qatar Airways, where we operate three daily flights to Amman using wide-body aircraft, including the state-of-the-art Airbus A350. The opening of our new offices in the Kingdom comes as a response to the growing demand for quality flights, in addition to serving as further confirmation that Qatar Airways has become the airline of choice for discerning travellers from Jordan. We are looking forward to further enhancing our offerings and services in Jordan and are certain that the launch of our new offices will help us achieve our goal.”

Qatar Airways launched its first flight to Amman in 1994. Since then, Amman has consistently been one of the airline’s primary destinations, with 21 weekly flights from Doha. Meanwhile, more than 400 Jordanians are employed as part of Qatar Airways Group’s team to support the group’s development and contribute to enhancing its services.

Qatar Airways entered into a codeshare agreement with Royal Jordanian Airlines in 2015, allowing both airlines to reach various additional destinations around the world. The agreement recently expanded to allow passengers to fly to East Asia through Hamad International Airport.

Qatar Airways was named Best Airline during the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2019. The national carrier of the State of Qatar also won the Best Airline in the Middle East, Best Business Class in the World and Best Business Class Award for their flagship Qsuite. The airline has also become the first in the world to win the World’s Best Airline award five times.

Qatar Airways participates in several CSR initiatives in Jordan, including its consistent support to the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) and Foundation. Representatives from the airline have visited KHCC on several occasions over the past years, including various characters from the Oryx Kids Club to distribute gifts to children currently undergoing treatment at the center.

The airline also participated in distributing humanitarian aid packages to underprivileged families in Jordan in cooperation with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, Qatar Charitable Society and the Qatar Red Crescent.

احتفلت الخطوط الجوية القطرية بافتتاح مكاتبها الجديدة في العاصمة الأردنية عمّان، حيث أقيمت مراسم الافتتاح في 2 سبتمبر، وأتبعتها بحفل عشاء مميز في فندق فور سيزونز. وشهدت مراسم افتتاح المكتب حضور وزير المواصلات الأردني سعادة المهندس أنمار الخصاونة، والرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، بالإضافة إلى عدد من كبار الشخصيات والمسؤولين.

وكانت الخطوط الجوية القطرية قد قامت بتدشين المكاتب الجديدة من أجل إيجاد مكان مميز للعمل لجميع موظفيها في الأردن. ويقع المبنى في منطقة الشميساني، في العاصمة الأردنية عمّان، التي تعج بالعديد من مقار الشركات والأعمال. ويجسّد المبنى حرص الناقلة القطرية على تحقيق الإمتياز في جميع خدماتها، حيث يتميز المبنى بزواياه المنحنية على طول طوابقه الست. ويضم المبنى 24 مكتباً للإيجار وصالة عرض، مع أماكن للاصطفاف تحت الأرض، وخدمات أمنية على مدار الساعة، وخدمات إدارة المنشآت ذات جودة عالية. وتبلغ مساحة أرض المبنى حوالي 2000 متر مربع، فيما تبلغ مساحة المبنى حوالي 11000 متر مربع.

وأثنى سعادة المهندس أنمار الخصاونة على افتتاح الخطوط الجوية القطرية لمكاتبها الجديدة في عمّان، حيث أصبح هذا المبنى أول استثمار تمتلكه بالكامل دولة قطر في المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، وأعرب الخصاونة عن أمنياته بأن يكون هذا الاستثمار بدايةً لاستثمارات قطرية أخرى في المملكة. كما وأشاد سعادة الوزير الخصاونة بتميّز العلاقات التي تربط الأردن وقطر، لافتاً إلى أهمية تذليل العقبات والتحديات التي تواجه التعاون في مجال النقل بكافة قطاعاته بين البلدين الشقيقين.

وبدوره، قال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية: “يعدّ السوق الأردني سوقاً مهماً بالنسبة للخطوط الجوية القطرية، حيث نسيّر 3 رحلات يومياً إلى العاصمة الأردنية عمّان على طائرات واسعة البدن، بما في ذلك طائرة إيرباص A350. ويأتي افتتاح مكاتبنا الجديدة في عمّان استجابةً للإقبال المتزايد على رحلاتنا، مما يؤكد بأننا أصبحنا شركة الطيران المفضلة للمسافرين من الأردن. ونتطلع خلال الفترة الحالية إلى تعزيز عروضنا وخدماتنا في الأردن، وكلنا ثقة بأن افتتاح مكاتبنا الجديدة سيساعدنا على تحقيق هذا الأمر”.

وأطلقت الخطوط الجوية القطرية أولى رحلاتها إلى العاصمة الأردنية عمّان في عام 1994، حيث تعد مدينة عمّان من أولى الوجهات التي دشّنت الناقلة القطرية رحلاتها إليها منذ تأسيسها في عام 1993. وتسيّر الناقلة حالياً 21 رحلة أسبوعياً (بواقع 3 رحلات يومياً) من الدوحة إلى عمّان، فيما يعمل فيها أكثر من 400 أردني لا يدخرون جهداً لدعم تطور المجموعة والإسهام في تعزيز خدماتها.

وأبرمت الخطوط الجوية القطرية اتفاقية الرمز المشترك مع الخطوط الجوية الملكية الأردنية في عام 2015، لتتيح الفرصة أمام المسافرين من شركتي الطيران للوصول إلى العديد من الوجهات في مختلف أنحاء العالم. واتسعت الاتفاقية خلال الفترة الماضية لتمكن مسافري الملكية الأردنية من السفر إلى دول شرق آسيا عبر مقر عمليات الناقلة القطرية مطار حمد الدولي.

يشار إلى أن الخطوط الجوية القطرية تشارك في العديد من مبادرات المسؤولية المجتمعية في الأردن، ومن أبرز هذه المبادرات دعمها لمركز ومؤسسة الحسين للسرطان، حيث قام ممثلون من الناقلة بزيارة المركز في العديد من المناسبات خلال الفترة الماضية، مصطحبين وإياهم شخصيات نادي أوريكس للأطفال الذين رسموا الابتسامة على وجه الأطفال ووزعوا الهدايا عليهم. كما شاركت الناقلة في توزيع مساعدات إنسانية للأسر المحتاجة في الأردن، وذلك بالتعاون مع الهيئة الخيرية الهاشمية الأردنية وقطر الخيرية والهلال الأحمر القطري.

وحازت الخطوط الجوية القطرية على جائزة أفضل شركة طيران في العالم خلال حفل توزيع جوائز سكاي تراكس العالمية 2019. كما حصدت جائزة أفضل شركة طيران في الشرق الأوسط وجائزة أفضل درجة رجال أعمال في العالم وجائزة أفضل مقعد على درجة رجال الأعمال عن مقاعد كيو سويت. وأصبحت الناقلة القطرية شركة الطيران الوحيدة التي تفوز بجائزة أفضل شركة طيران في العالم خمس مرات.
