ExxonMobil Qatar hosts recognition ceremony for female students

ExxonMobil Qatar recently held an annual recognition ceremony for more than 40 female students who have taken part in its sponsorship and internship programs this year. The students are currently enrolled in Qatar University (QU) and Community College Qatar (CCQ).

More than 370 students have benefitted from these programs since they were first established in 2006. ExxonMobil Qatar offers these opportunities to students from local universities as part of its commitment to achieving the objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly its Human Development Pillar.

These unique experiences allow students to link what they are learning in their courses to real life situations and the workplace, build on and develop soft skills that are essential for working effectively in their chosen careers, and help them navigate challenges that may arise in their future professions. They also play an instrumental role in pointing students in the right direction, encouraging them to either continue on their educational paths or explore alternative study tracks.

Abdullatif Al Naemi, ExxonMobil Qatar’s Human Resources Manager—the department responsible for running the programs at the company – hosted the event.

“We’re proud to have another cohort of students successfully take part in our programs this year,” said Al Naemi. “These programs are aimed at providing Qatar’s students with the 21st Century skills that will help prepare them for the careers they have chosen – bridging the gap between education and the workplace. What we’re effectively doing is helping students understand Qatar’s energy industry – how it is driving Qatar’s economy and how it contributes to the global energy mix as well.”

“As a committed and active member of the community, our local programs – including our internship and scholarship programs aim to support learning objectives and build human capacities, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030,” said Al Naemi.

Shefa Ali (pictured), coach and motivational speaker, took part in the event. She provided the group with a special presentation and spoke about her own experience.

“It is a pleasure to be part of today’s event hosted by ExxonMobil Qatar and to share experiences with the vibrant and talented young women who have taken part in its programs. I’m inspired by their ambitions, ideas and aspirations to lead meaningful change within their communities – they hold so much promise for Qatar and I’m proud to be part of ExxonMobil’s efforts to help ensure that they have rewarding and productive futures,” said Shefa.

استضافت «إكسون موبيل قطر»، مؤخراً، فعالية التكريم السنوية للاحتفاء بما يزيد على 40 من طالبات جامعة قطر وكلية المجتمع في قطر، المشاركات في برنامجي الشركة للرعاية والتدريب لهذا العام، وذلك في إطار التزامها تجاه تحقيق أهداف رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، خاصة فيما يتصل بركيزة التنمية البشرية.

واستفاد من برامج «إكسون موبيل قطر» للرعاية والتدريب، منذ إطلاقها في عام 2006، أكثر من 370 طالباً من جامعات محلية، أتيحت أمامهم هذه الفرص للاستفادة من تجارب فريدة يستطيعون من خلالها تطبيق ما يتعلمونه في قاعات الدراسة في مواقف فعلية في بيئة العمل، وبناء وتطوير مهارات أساسية تحمل أهمية جوهرية للعمل بفاعلية في المهن التي سيختارونها في المستقبل، ومساعدتهم في التغلب على التحديات التي قد تواجههم في مسيراتهم المهنية. كما تساهم هذه الفرص أيضاً في وضع الطلاب على المسار الصحيح، وتحفيزهم على مواصلة تحصيلهم الدراسي واستكشاف مواد بديلة للبحث.

وفي تصريح له خلال استضافة «إكسون موبيل قطر» الاحتفالية، أعرب السيد عبداللطيف النعيمي، مدير الموارد البشرية في «إكسون موبيل قطر»، عن فخره بنجاح مشاركة دفعة جديدة من الطالبات في برنامجي الشركة للرعاية والتدريب هذا العام؛ مشيراً إلى أن هذه البرامج تهدف إلى تزويد الطلاب بمهارات القرن الحادي والعشرين التي من شأنها مساعدتهم في الاستعداد لممارسة مهام أدوارهم المهنية التي سيختاروها في المستقبل، مما يسدّ الفجوة بين التعليم الأكاديمي وبيئة العمل. ونواصل بكل جدّ مساعدة الطلاب على فهم جوانب صناعة الطاقة في قطر، وكيف يمثّل هذا القطاع محركاً للاقتصاد القطري، ومدى إسهامه في سوق الطاقة العالمي. وأضاف النعيمي: «باعتبار (إكسون موبيل) عضواً فاعلاً وملتزماً تجاه المجتمع، فإن برامجها المحلية -ومن بينها برامج التدريب والرعاية- تهدف إلى دعم التعلّم، وبناء القدرات البشرية، تماشياً مع أهداف رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030».
