Commerce and Industry Minister opens The Big 5 Construct Qatar
التجارة والصناعة تفتتح معرض مواد البناء «الخمسة الكبار»
Qatar is not only delivering some of the world’s most innovative and signature projects, but it is also developing its processes for efficient delivery and maintenance of sustainable construction and infrastructure, according to an industry expert.
Andrew Gardner-Mitchell, the chair of the CIOB Hub Committees for Qatar and the Mena Region, who is one of the speakers at the three-day The Big 5 Construct Qatar, said: “Construction professionals joining the industry in Qatar can expect to have a voice and influence over the country’s exciting journey to construction excellence.”
The second edition of The Big 5 Construct Qatar, being organised by dmg events Doha until Wednesday at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), was inaugurated on Monday by HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari.
A dedicated platform where international and regional construction players can meet face-to-face, do business, and learn in Doha, The Big 5 Construct Qatar hosts 150 exhibitors from 20 countries and runs over 40 free and certified education sessions this week.
Product offering at The Big 5 Construct Qatar covers the entire building cycle across seven dedicated sectors, including MEP services, building interiors and finishes, building envelope and special construction, construction tools and building materials, construction technologies and innovations, concrete, and plant machinery and vehicles.

According to dmg events Doha, the more than 40 free education sessions curated by industry thought leaders at The Big 5 Construct Qatar would update visiting professionals with the latest developments in the sector.
Sessions run across themes, including Project Management, Architecture and Design, General Construction, Sustainability, and the final day talks on BIM and Women in Construction.
Another speaker at the event, Dr Hossam Samir Ibrahim, Urban & Regional Planning consultant at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, said: “Free education at The Big 5 Construct Qatar is hugely beneficial for construction professionals looking to advance their career. This style of education provides deep learning in the construction career field and is recognised by employers for real job relevance.”

افتتح سعادة السيد علي بن أحمد الكواري، وزير التجارة والصناعة، أمس، النسخة الثانية من معرض مواد البناء (THE BIG 5 CONSTRUCT QATAR) في مركز الدوحة للمعارض والمؤتمرات، والذي يستمر حتى 25 سبتمبر.
تغطي المنتجات والخدمات في المعرض سبعة قطاعات رئيسية في مجال البناء، وهي: خدمات الهندسة الكهربائية والميكانيكية، والديكورات والتشطيبات، وتغليف المباني والإنشاءات الخاصة، وأدوات ومواد البناء، وتقنيات البناء والابتكارات، والخرسانة، ومعدات المصانع والمركبات.

ويحظى المعرض في هذا العام بدعم ورعاية العديد من الجهات الحكومية والشركات الخاصة، من ضمنها المجلس الوطني للسياحة (الشريك الاستراتيجي)، وهيئة المناطق الحرة (راعي المناطق الحرة)، وشركة هندسة الدرويش (راعي شريط البطاقة التعريفية للمعرض)، وشركة الادخار (راعي المنطقة الحضرية)، وشركة فوسو (راعي النقل).
