Qatar Airways’s inaugural flight touches down in Rabat
«القطرية» تدشّن رحلاتها إلى العاصمة المغربية
Qatar Airways’ first flight from Doha to Rabat landed on Wednesday at Rabat–Salé Airport, marking the airline’s third gateway to Morocco. Qatar Airways flight QR1463, operated by a Boeing 787, was welcomed by a celebratory water cannon salute upon arrival in the Moroccan capital.
Present on board the inaugural flight to Rabat was Qatar Airways Senior Vice-President Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, Ehab Amin.
VIPs present to greet the flight included the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Abdulla Falah Al Dosari; Minister Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar in Morocco, Khaled Mohammed Al-Dosari; General Manager of Morocco’s Civil Aviation Authority Zakaria Belghazi; General Manager of Air Transport Morocco, Tarik Talibi; Deputy Mayor of Rabat, Khalid Moujaouir, and President of the Regional Tourism Council in Rabat, Hassan Bargach.
Services to Rabat will be served three times per week by a Boeing 787 aircraft, featuring 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are delighted to launch services to Rabat, a beautiful coastal city and key business hub. This new gateway to Morocco will strengthen Qatar Airways’ already robust presence in the Moroccan market, while providing our passengers travelling from Morocco enhanced connectivity to our extensive global route map of more than 160 destinations. Rabat, the country’s capital, is also a major commercial and administrative centre, making it a key destination for business travellers, both from the region and internationally.”
Moroccan Airports Authority Chief Executive Officer, Mr Zouhair Mohammed El Aoufir, said: “We are pleased to welcome Qatar Airways as one of our airline partners operating flights to the Rabat-Salé airport.
This new route continues to enrich the airport’s offers, and certainly opens further opportunities for Rabat, the city of lights.
This new route, in addition to the existing Doha-Casablanca route, strengthens our ambition to developing long-haul flights to this airport, as well as reflecting the strong relationship and cooperation between our two countries.”
Visitors to Rabat can enjoy a wide variety of activities, including shopping for textiles, jewellery and crafts in the many traditional souqs in the city’s Old Medina.
Tourists can also visit the Andalusian Gardens, a tranquil oasis where visitors can wander and admire the many traditional Andalusian flowers and shrubs, including orange, lemon and banana trees.
وصلت الرحلة الافتتاحية للخطوط الجوية القطرية من الدوحة إلى الرباط أمس الأول الأربعاء في مطار الرباط سلا الدولي على متن طائرة من طراز بوينج 787 دريملاينر، وتم استقبال الرحلة الافتتاحية بأقواس المياه الاحتفالية لدى وصولها الرباط، ثالث وجهات الناقلة القطرية في المملكة المغربية. وكان على الرحلة الافتتاحية إلى الرباط السيد إيهاب أمين، نائب أول الرئيس التنفيذي للشرق الأوسط وإفريقيا وباكستان في الخطوط الجوية القطرية.
ولدى وصول الرحلة إلى مطار سلا الدولي، كان في استقبالها كل من: سعادة السيد عبدالله فلاح الدوسري سفير دولة قطر، والسيد خالد بن محمد الدوسري وزير مفوض في سفارة دولة قطر لدى المغرب، والسيد زكريا بلغازي المدير العام لهيئة الطيران المدني في المغرب، والسيد طارق طليبي المدير العام للنقل الجوي في المغرب، والسيد خالد مجاور نائب عمدة الرباط، والسيد حسن برغاش رئيس المجلس الإقليمي للسياحة في مدينة الرباط.
ثلاث رحلات
وسوف تسيّر الناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر ثلاث رحلات أسبوعياً إلى الرباط على متن طائرة من طراز بوينج 787 دريملاينر، التي تضم 22 مقعداً على درجة رجال الأعمال، و232 مقعداً على الدرجة السياحية.
وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية: «يسعدنا إطلاق رحلاتنا الجديدة إلى مدينة الرباط التي تعد مدينة ساحلية استثنائية ومركزاً متميزاً للأعمال. وسوف تساهم هذه الوجهة الجديدة في تعزيز حضورنا القوي في السوق المغربي، فيما ستتيح خيارات سفر مريحة وكثيرة للمسافرين من المغرب إلى أكثر من 160 وجهة حول العالم. كما تعد العاصمة المغربية الرباط مركزاً تجارياً وإدارياً في المنطقة، لتصبح بذلك وجهة مفضلة للمسافرين بغرض العمل من مختلف أنحاء العالم».
خيارات السفر
من جهته، قال السيد زهير محمد العوفير، الرئيس التنفيذي لهيئة المطارات المغربية: «يسعدنا الترحيب بوصول أولى رحلات الخطوط الجوية القطرية إلى مدينة الرباط، حيث ستساهم هذه الرحلات في تعزيز الخدمات التي يقدمها مطار الرباط سلا الدولي، وبالتأكيد ستساهم في إتاحة المزيد من خيارات السفر من وإلى الرباط التي تشتهر باسم مدينة الأنوار».
وأضاف: «سوف تدعم هذه الرحلات الجديدة، بالإضافة إلى الرحلات المباشرة إلى الدار البيضاء، جهودنا لاستقطاب المزيد من الرحلات طويلة المدى إلى مطار الرباط سلا الدولي، بالإضافة إلى تعزيز العلاقات والتعاون المشترك بين بلدينا».
