HH the Amir: The new IOC headquarters is an architectural icon

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani hailed the new headquarters of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

“I congratulate the Olympic Committee and its new headquarters, and I also congratulate our friends in Italy to choose Milan and Cortina to host the 2026 Winter Games,” HH wrote on twitter.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani participated in the meetings of the General Assembly of the 134th session of the International Olympic Committee held in Lausanne, Switzerland.

During the meetings, a number of topics on the agenda relating to the development of sports and the Olympic Movement were discussed at the global level, in addition to voting on the city that won the host of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games
The cities that won are the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina.

وكتب صاحب السمو عبر تويتر مساء اليوم: “مقر اللجنة الأولمبية الدولية الجديد في لوزان أيقونة معمارية تعكس قيم ورسالة هذه المنظمة الرياضية العريقة. أبارك للجنة الأولمبية مقرها الجديد، كما أبارك لأصدقائنا في إيطاليا اختيار مدينتي ميلانو وكورتينا لاستضافة دورة الألعاب الشتوية 2026”.

وشارك حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، في اجتماعات الجمعية العمومية للدورة الـ134 للجنة الأولمبية الدولية، التي عقدت بمدينة لوزان في سويسرا.

تم خلال الاجتماعات تناول عدد من الموضوعات المدرجة على جدول الأعمال ذات الصلة بتطوير العمل الرياضي والحركة الأولمبية على المستوى العالمي، بالإضافة إلى التصويت على المدينة الفائزة باستضافة دورة الألعاب الأولمبية الشتوية 2026 والتي فازت بها مدينتا ميلانو وكورتينا الإيطاليتان.
